Streaming games..need help

Looking for a good suggestion for watching Panther games this season.  I am dumping cable due to severe budget cuts. (Still can't find a decent job) I have access to a family member's youtubetv account but they live in another part of the country.  At 1st I thought I would get an inexpensive streaming service with local channels but am having a tough time finding one. Prefer not to pay $50 a month if I can find something else.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Where do you live? They don't air Panthers games on your local stations?

I live in Morganton...yes..get local channels but I want to cut cable.  Can use a family members YouTube TV..but they are in another state.  I lost my job due to Covid19 and am still unemployed...very difficult to find a decent job.  So..I am cutting costs.  The only local thing I care about watching is Panther games.

Sling gets you basic channels and local for a cheaper price point than YouTube tv and others if that’s all you care about.

But other than that, the antenna would be a good option too

Sling does not have local channels.  Am wondering...is there anyone in the mtns or foothills (where I am) have some experience with the HDTV antennas?

are you looking for free or cheaper than your cable?

for HDTV antenna you can start here to see what the signal strength is generally like in your area

https://www.fcc.gov/media/engineering/dtvmaps

for an example, we attempted to go this route a couple years ago.  My area had good signal.   In reality, CBS and ABC were perfect.  FOX wouldn't pickup in my house.   Which obviously didn't work as a Panther fan.  It's kind of all or nothing.  You generally either get a perfect HD picture or nothing.   Others I know nearby got them all.  All antennas aren't created equal either.  My brother in law uses Leaf.  Which is the one I tried out.  They are a little pricey vs some of the random ones you can find.

I mean you can definitely find the "illegal" streams of games if you get desperate.  They were kicked off reddit but still exist.

A simple $20 TV antenna is the answer. Lived in Asheville for years and used only an antenna with no issues. Get the long range kind and you should be good.

I'd also recommend an antenna as well.  The kicker will be if your TV has a tuner in it. You'll have to check your TVs model.

I've used this webpage to help me and my friends get antennas and get them set up:

https://www.antennaweb.org/

We switched to Hulu add free plus live TV.  $65 or so a month, but we have all the tv we could ever watch and live channels as well.

Good luck!
