The Panthers on Monday claimed former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Jalen Jelks, a league source confirmed. Dallas released the 2019 seventh-round pick out of Oregon to make room for Everson Griffin. The Panthers won't have to make a corresponding move until Jelks clears COVID-19 testing, which typically takes 3-4 days.

I remember him now, he was one of my favorite late round DE prospects. Id say hes got a good shot at the PS, if hes in great shape. Hes perfect for the PS.

Played LT in HS.....Is this one of Rhule’s conversion players?  Beef him up will protein shakes and viola an offensive linemen is created.

Andrew Vollert waived to make room for Jelks

Newly claimed defensive end Jalen Jelks (who was claimed on waivers from the Cowboys) was on the field today wearing #73 – tight end Andrew Vollert, who was signed only four days ago, was released – I am not kidding you. The Panthers liked Jelks and with only 80 players in camp, this decision came down to the numbers as Temarrick Hemingway (concussion) was able to return to practice, albeit in a green non-contact jersey. “This is a really hard year,” said Rhule. “Having some players get hurt early in [Keith] Kirkwood (who broke his clavicle) really just got [us] caught up in the numbers game.”
