According to Ricky Patel, Munnerlyn's attorney, Munnerlyn's legal troubles had to do with him being exploited by the people he had been associating with.

and I don't gamble so I had to google casino markers. 

A casino marker is a line of credit that gaming establishments lend to players to use for gambling at the property. Patrons who fail to repay the marker may face civil action to collect the debt, as well as criminal charges for check fraud or passing bad checks.

 

 

 

who knows, but realistically, Captain's side could be legit and he just had a bunch of mooches taking advantage of him.   Might not be broke.  I mean, if I remember correctly, was Captain Munnerlyn made fun of by being kinda cheap by NFL standards?  Wasn't there some story about him and shoes or something a long time ago?

If he wired 200g I doubt he’s broke, unless he got a loan of ill repute. 
 

Moral of the story never give markers to anyone unless you fully expect to never see that money again.
