I weep for Teddy. I’m just exciting about all the young interior OL we’ve been drafting and developing since Paradis sucked and we lost Norwell, Kalil (Ryan, not speed bump), Turner and even Van Roten the last three years. We’ll be ok at LT just because of all that young talent we’ve been building up in the middle.

How are you idiots blaming Hurney?

If he retires, I’d say because for the second year in a row we’ve given up either a lot of money or trade assets for a vet OL coming off of a season ending injury. There’s a big risk in that or did you think Paradis and Daryl Williams, for that matter, played well?

If Marty wasn’t thinking that there was a chance it would happen then he’s an idiot.

Why not take a look at this article talking about how well we did.

Please take note where the author links to an article where Okung wasn’t ruling out retiring and the author basically says there’s a non-zero risk of retirement. If he retires then it’s Marty’s fault that we gave away Turner for nothing.

lol, We traded Trai’s contract. Turner was a shell of himself. We got a Tackle for a guard that’s pretty good in my book. Besides he hasn’t retired yet. Man you folks are on suicide watch around here!

Yeah it’s not like Turner actually had value with that contract coming along with him. He’s been average at best the last few years and unreliable with some injuries. Sucks for this year if Okung is retiring (unless we’re tanking) but long term it makes zero difference.

If he retires with the reason being coronavirus concerns then it’s not fair at all to say Marty should’ve seen that coming. —not a fan of Hurney

So now Hurney should have known Okung was going to retire due to the Corona virus and not traded for him.  Amazing all the things he should have known before they happened. You don't want a GM you want Nostradamus.

Read the link I just posted. The author mentions specifically the risk of Okung retiring because of the heart issue. So yes, Hurney should have been aware that there was a big risk that if CV was around that he’d retire.

The trade was in March. CV was already in the US and we went on lockdown in NC two weeks later. Let’s not act like this trade was done without realizing it was a risk. Pretty sure pro days and travel was already stopping. A guy with a life threatening heart issue is very much a guy who would opt out for health reasons. Pretty sure Okung is a perfect example of a guy risking a lot if he gets it.
