Bruins aren’t the Pistons, the Pistons were actually good and had to play against the refs (hell if they had the refs giving them calls like LA and Boston back then they’d have probably won 4+ titles with that core). Boston was lucky as hell to even win one and that was only because of Tim Thomas going insane that season. Other than that they’ve been perennial underachievers even with the refs in their pocket. Just an absolutely embarrassing and disgusting franchise. No respect for them or any of their fans at all.

Could have “beefed” it up this game. Needed to stop trying to play our game and start playing their game soon as the scored that third goal. Hate to use a long gone metaphor but “keep pounding”

Reimer did fug that one up after he let the non goal in, and let’s skate 20 feet out. We need to stop playing weak, lay the hits, pick a few fights next game. Get them off their game. Give Aho some breakaways. Force the refs to make bad calls. Fug it. We have to win 3 in a row anyways. 
 

(edit: I can’t think of a single series I’ve watched in hockey where there was a goal a game called back. “As the old saying goes fool me once.”)

If it’s any consolation, there is NO way the Bruins can beat the Flyers or Lightning with Halak in goal. He’s terrible.

Yeah they’re not going anywhere this year. They can beat a very young and not quite there Canes team without Svech and our goalies sucking and the refs handing them games left and right but Tampa is going to beat the living hell out of them next round like they have for the past several years. And we probably would not have gotten by Tampa anyways, they’re a powerhouse, even without Stamkos. Will be very fun watching Tampa mop the floor with these pieces of sh*t.

Yea I agree. The Bruins have one awesome scoring line (Pastrnak being out) and a couple of good defensemen. Rask was the glue that held that team together. Halak let in some soft goals since he’s been the starter. I said it before the series started that I don’t think the Canes match up well with Boston and so far that has held pretty true. Pile on some unfortunate injuries and inconsistent goalie play and the Canes don’t stand a chance this year, barring a miracle. They have some good young players and the future is bright. They need to go find a big mean lead defensemen like Shea Weber, and a few better goal scorers to compliment Aho, and they could compete for a championship. 

Since this is quarantine I have watched a lot of hockey and seen bits and pieces of most games and many whole games in the East. Like you said, the Lightning are solid and can score. I don’t think Boston can take them down with a backup goalie. And the Flyers are stacked. They’re a big team with a GREAT young goalie in Carter Hart and are getting goals out of their young players. The Islanders are getting lucky TBH and simply got under the Caps skin. I think the Flyers will coast by the Islanders in the 2nd round and the Lightning and Bruins beat each other up in a 7 game series. Whoever comes out of that series plays a well rested Flyers team in the east championship.

I see a Flyers/Vegas final. Two solid teams with two good goalies. Would be an epic final.

Wasn't sure I was gonna watch this one... Decided to put it on while doing other things and not expecting much from the team. Still going to keep low expectations for the rest of this series, but man that was a nice goal! Maybe the boys can bounce back. Bruins have choked before (blew a 3-0 series lead once). Fleury has become one of our better defensemen, very nice to see. That was a snipe

What a save by Mrazek. Our best chance to survive this series is for him to just get insanely hot, which we know he's capable of.

I thought it was a solid first, we had some good chances and good effort. Expectations are low for us to hold this lead though, after what happened last game. We’ll see. I do think if we win this one that we’ll force a game 7, not sure why but I see that happening if we win today. Our only other win as of now was on a back to back, and I think our youth gives us an advantage for those games so just win today and regroup. 1-3 is not insurmountable.

Nice pressure forcing them to take a dumb penalty. Need to capitalize on the PP. That has been a HUGE factor in us being down 1-3. Boston scoring on their PPs and us not is the main difference right now I'd say.

MRAZEK Holy crap, he just robbed Pastrnak. Can't believe we didn't score but thank God Petr bailed us out. If he plays like this for 3 straight games, we're winning the series.
