Carolina Hurricanes Playoffs

As fugged up as the situation on the second goal was, it sort of felt evened out as soon as we got the short-handed goal and then killed the penalty. If not for the bad call, we don't get that breakaway shorthanded goal. Of course who knows what could have happened if the call was correct and the Bruins were penalized for goalie interference. Sucks.

Ehh that’s a poor argument for the call not mattering. We earned our goal, they did not. The rest of the game changes completely if the correct call is made so it would also negate their other 2 goals and everything changes. Reality is in that game both teams earned 3 goals. Refs/league handed them 1.

I cheer for the Canucks in the NHL, but I felt like Carolina got hosed pretty good. I don't know if they would have won, because I do think they failed to be the better team on the night, but the beauty of the game sometimes is winning despite all that, and they got walloped by a pretty awful officiating moment.

It's always hard to shake the feeling that the Bruins are coddled and protected by the league. It's always as if they play with one set of rules, and the other 30 teams play by another.

Yeah it’s frustrating as hell rooting for a team playing against the teams who get favorable treatment. It’s not just the Bruins though, there are plenty of bigger market teams across the NHL and sports in general that get more favor from the leagues than smaller market teams like the Canes and Panthers. The bottom line drives everything and having teams with bigger markets or more nationwide interest (half the country will watch teams like the Bruins/Pats just to hope they lose) advance further brings in more viewers/attendance and ultimately more money. Those same people are much less likely to tune in for a Hurricanes/Blue Jackets matchup for instance. It is what it is but it doesn’t make it any easier for us fans. The team just needs to overcome it and those types of wins are much more satisfying than ones that aren’t 100% earned.

we just gotta skate and handle the puck better. Dougie needs to calm down. He was trying to take way too many shoots yesterday. if we can do that and stop playing Boston’s game. we should be good. Dunno who rod is gonna put in the goal tonight but since he didn’t pull mrazek yesterday I think he should stick with him for another game.

Get Aho the puck in space. That’s our key. They got his wingers shut the Fug down. As it was mentioned already. Rask looks very beatable.

Funny enough, Svech needs to take a page out of Dougie for that. Lol.

Pasta out tonight for the Bruins. Williams and Vatanen playing tonight.

We absolutely need to take advantage of this and capitalize tonight. Pastrnak is their best scorer (probably not best overall player, Bergeron is) and him being out is huge and we won't have any idea whether it's just for this game or something longer term, if it's just this game then no better opportunity to get a jump and gain "home ice" for the rest of the series (yes there's no fans but I do think that last change is very important for RBA's strategy, and partly why we've done better at home).

Not sure how much more Willy will offer but Vatanen should be better than Eddy/Gardiner (whoever we sit) and move one of them down in minutes which is good. Nino should be the one sitting for Willy, he's been worthless, but it'll probably be Zinger again...

I love nino but at this point ya. His line is only good for a PK at this point.
