I wouldn't see it that way.  The Panthers gave Gano a LOT of money and he got to be in Charlotte a long time.

He had one spectacular year and a couple of good ones. His overall FG% is 82% which is better than - checks notes - Mason Crosby at 81%. Yes he was average over 10 years but give him a little credit.

Gano was not an average kicker.  He was definitely above average when healthy and I'd rank top 10 in the league based on consistency and leg strength.  I mean the guy kicked a freaking 63 yard field goal.  He made 96.7% of his field goals in 2017.  

If you guys really think Gano is average, you might be in for a rude awakening while we search for a replacement.
