Goodbye Gano

His contract made a lot more sense before the kickoff rule changes.

Always weird how much we punted when we could have had 3 points on the board when we were within kicking range of a big leg guy...

Had some good moments. I'm sure someone else will need a kicker so he is sure to get at least a long look.

The hate for the guy is unwarranted. I don't give a fug about his politics, he was a solid kicker for us. It isn't his fault Hurney gave him a big contract.

Its not fair but it's open territory. Its like over drafting a prospect. Its not fair but it's inescapable. Once a player's contact exceeds their value then it is fair to discuss and can create negative ramifications for the player. I try not to be an :Eggplant_Emoji_Icon_42x42: about it but it is a reality. And it is absolutely on the decision makers first and mostly but the player can't get away from it. It's like what Ted is facing...inescapable. At least with contracts vs draftees there is a choice and most likely better pay.

I have wanted him gone for a while now but no hate and nothing to really celebrate now. Just good luck and good bye.

Yeah, that contract was a bitch. I still think I would rather roll with him than Slye but the youth movement makes sense with where we are headed. As our old buddy used to say, it is what it is.

I do feel bad for Teddy too. I genuinely like the kid but he is stepping into an almost impossible scenario. Trying to replace the best player(arguably) in franchise history while doing it with a D+ team around him.

How Cam was handled and how it ended will add fuel to that fire. It's just a bad spot and I'm not going to enjoy the likely outcomes.

Still pains me to see Butker in KC. Hurney actually kept him and Gano on the roster at the same time for a few weeks in the regular season then got rid of Butker. What a joke

Just another horrible call from Hurney and Rivera.

I feel the same way about him.  He is getting paid but he is most certainly taking one for the team.  Not sure why he signed with us (maybe we were his only suitor) but I dont envy his situation this year.  The oline alone is going to get him killed and he has to know that

Time to let Mike Davis and Seth Roberts go.  Secondary role players and can save the team just over $6M in cap space and with only $6K in dead cap.  That would get us to $18M in cap space and in the top 10 teams with the most cap room.

David Newton reported (take with a grain of salt) not long ago that the team is planning on Davis being McCaffrey’s main backup. Which is ridiculous given that cap hit....

If we were top 10 in cap space with the highest dead cap in the league this year, that would be absolutely fascinating.

The end of a combination of horrible moves involving the PK position.

    Butker: 2017-20. 4 years/2.4M

    Gano: 2017-20.  4 year/ 14M

Letting Butker go was bad enough. But signing an inconsistent, average(at best) PK with recent injury history to a top 5 PK contract was just asinine. Now, for the 3rd year in a row, the Panthers get to pay two PKs.

What’s wrong? Does the truth bother you this much? Anything false about what I said? How insecure and uninformed are you that instead of debating the point, you just want someone to go away. I understand from your point of view. All these ”negative” takes keep being right. Must be frustrating.
