Players opting out

It’s what the panthers should have done. If Cam can’t do it anymore, pull him and put in Grier. Sail to the #1 or #2 pick, honor the final year of Cam’s contract and separate amicably after the season.

Nope, lie about releasing Cam, then release him at one of the worst times possible, and sign a really good game manager and probably going to finish 5-11 and just out of the reach of Lawrence or Fields and have to draft a lineman or DB. Panthers football 101.

You know we have not heard a thing about Okung opting out.  Last year they discovered he had a heart arrhythmia or some kind of heart thing I don't remember.  It would suck that as soon as we think we have fixed the left tackle problem, at least for 1 year, he opts out and we are in the same boat we were in last year.  Hoping it doesn't happen just saying what if.

I can understand why some of the players are opting out. I don’t want to even think how bad I would feel if I spreaded the virus to loved ones. At the end of the day, it’s just a game. I know people that has definitely been effected by the virus (health wise) so it’s nothing to scoff at.

And let's remember they get hundreds of thousands of dollars in salary if they sit out

That’s true. If my job would let me sit out and still get same paycheck, I would do the same

U are not a pro athlete and you are replaceable. You see this type of argument all the time. Average joes complaining about pro athletes doing something they don’t like. “Well if I did that I would be fired!!!!!” - yes you would because your employer doesn’t give a crap about you.

It's nowhere near the same paycheck. It's not nothing but for most it's a very small fraction.

It is 315000 which is almost 30000 a month to do nothing. That isn't the same salary of course but isn't that off the minimum salary in the NFL which is 510,000 for rookies and 610,000 for veterans.  Not everyone makes millions in the NFL.
