What do they have to show for it? 3 playoff wins, no year with more than 1 and only 1 division title (10-5-1 record won them the division in 2016 which is quite pitiful).

Yeah, that's terrible.  I'm pretty sure that makes them a bottom 10 franchise in the league.  Sad.

That's a helluva haul, but the Seahawks have definitely had a lot of success with elite safeties in the past. They know the value the position can provide to a defense and a team.

This is what its really all about.  The Seahawks value the position AND have a scheme and philosophy that is predicated on having good safety play.  They are able to use guys at corner that other teams would struggle with, because they have had safeties that made up for it.

Sure is a lot leveraged on a guy that, while excellent, was being called out for basic disloyalty by LeVeon Bell, right? Avoiding divas and trading them away is probably a good policy. Jets can't stay away from them, it's like that friend that is always hitting on the hot/crazy gal at the bar. Seattle in the same situation has a "type" (ego-inflated safeties who want a big payday) and will grab the same kind of person from the bar expecting a different outcome.

Just saying that both teams played the game the same way they always do. Seattle has had some success at it. The Jets... well, how long has it been since the heyday of Broadway Joe?

It makes them no better than any other team that hasn’t won the Super Bowl in that time period.

We aren't going to win the Super Bowl this year.  So I'm going to assume you aren't going to bother following the team?

I enjoy watching the Panthers, win or lose.

Yes.  The league average dictates the cost, but the team determines the value in relation to scheme.  The Seahawks know the S position--

I would like to add that it was Seattle that traded a second rounder away (#64) for #69 and #148 overall so that the Panthers could select S Jeremy Chinn.

So there was a good S candidate on the board they could have chosen--instead, they gave away a ton to get a proven commodity--that means that their coach--a bit old---is not looking to the future.  Pete wants another ring now.

Me too, but it usually takes me until about Tuesday to get over a loss.

Yeah no doubt, losing sucks but it’s still way better than not having sports or a team to be a fan of. Was easier for me last year since all my expectations went out the window pretty quickly. 2013 through 2018 I had pretty high expectations, which made it tougher when we didn’t meet them half the time.
