The tension has been brewing for month, and things finally came to a head on Saturday afternoon.

The New York Jets have agreed to trade disgruntled star safety Jamal Adams and a 2022 fourth round-pick to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for safety Bradley McDougald, a first-round and third round pick in 2021, and 2022 first-round, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoprot reported Saturday. Rapoport added that the deal is pending physicals.

Brian Costello of The New York Post was the first to report the news.

Around the NFL will have more on this shortly.

Lol I guess the Seahawks are betting they will be picking late in the first round the next 2 seasons. Yeesh that was a steep price to pay.

Terrible trade unless they are going for broke this year and next year. Trade two firsts and Adams agent has them by the balls like Tunsil’s agent did. A safety getting paid the top salary (he’ll get $16M or so) isn’t worth 2 firsts and a 3rd. McDougald cancels out the 4th.

I don’t think Seattle is that great. This helps but I’m not sure Adams makes then a true SB contender. I think SF still wins that division.

Yeah the Jets made out like bandits

I don’t know about that they got the best safety in his prime let’s see who they pick and their production. Jets likely to end up with two decent players out of the whole trade. That is a loss trading away all pros just for ok players is how u become the jets.

When you got Russell you can make moves like this.

A great QB allows this, and keeps you in contention for awhile

Bingo they just added a all pro Safety to all pro LB, that’s two outta three layers of defense. With the way Russell makes plays you’re in good hands offensively and now defensively as well.

They paid more for Adams than Chicago did for Khalil Mack. Pass rushers will always be more valued than safeties, even one as useful as Jamal Adams.

Seattle overpaid and Jets made out like bandits.

Adams didn’t even want to be there and the highest safety contract in history is just around the corner. lmao that’s just hilarious.

    • i think i go in the opposite direction of most. my ideal retirement is living in some old downtown area in a flat above some shop or something.  life out in the country was just something i got real tired of. My kids actually miss some of living out there, which i understand. that was where they grew up for the most part. 40 acres with a 2.5 acre pond. it was beautiful, but also way too much (and too expensive) for me to keep up with.
    • FLASHBACK: I remember back when ESPN was just starting--he was their anchor.  They used to show stuff like Rodeo and field hockey--I remember laughing when he went to a commercial mocking a cycling competition in Utah (or something similar--I made that up) and I laughed.  I told my dad, "We may have us a new anchor when we get back from commercial."  When they came back from commercial, Berman was looking very serious and he said, "Any comments by me do not reflect the views of ESPN....The men and women who cycle are dedicated athletes and we are honored to shine light on their sport." (Paraphrasing).  Dad laughed hysterically. My first memory of him--and that was like 1980.
    • Might not have a team without them. Although that probably applies to the Panthers, too.
