Except it isn’t “football” in the United States.  It is soccer.  I really hope people from places like Gastonia don’t start saying pitch, kit, match, pace, etc.

Keeping on the theme of clever, original names...our nickname will be something along the lines of 'the Blue'.

The name isn't terrible, but they've known it was going to be Charlotte FC for a while.

What was the point of teasing all the other names, other than setting people up for disappointment?

So many MLS teams already have blue color schemes, designing a jersey will be more tricky than it should be.  Montreal's team is blue and black stripped would have been perfect for Charlotte's team.  Checkerboard like the Croatian National team?

I wouldn't mind a similar style to the Croatian national side. But I'd rather it be blue and white with maybe some black accents than black and blue.

You're not locked in to the shade of blue. NYCFC has a sky blue color, a navy looking color, a splash of orange, white. After a year CFC can tweak the shade if they so desire. You don't have to copy the Panthers forever. Nor should you.

I'm honestly surprised that they didn't go with either 'Charlotte United FC' or 'Carolina United FC' to keep with the whole "two states, one team" thing they have going on with the Panthers.
