*WORST CASE SCENARIO* If the season isn’t played

How will draft picks be determined? NBA lottery style balls, randomly chosen by a computer generator or some wild poo that the NFL thinks is interesting and filled with dram so that can have something to talk about for weeks. I hope there is a season but we always have to be ready for the alternatives.

Look at how the NHL did their draft in 2005 after the previous season was cancelled. They did a special lottery where teams’ odds were weighted based on their season records and number of playoff wins in the 3-4 years before that or something. I could see the NFL doing something similar, in which case we would probably be in good shape for getting a good shot at a high pick, considering how bad we’ve been the last 4 years with just 1 playoff appearance in 2017 and a first round exit.

Would have to be a lottery to be fair.  Nothing weighted.  Call it the Trevor Lawrence lottery.

Nothing weighted, as in every single team has equal 1/32 odds to win the 1st overall pick? That would be ridiculous.

4 man teams made up of 2 players, one coach and one front office/media nerd from each team play the full season on Madden. Make the bonus checks for post season still payable and pass out superb owl rings to the winners.

Why is that ridiculous?  When you factor in salary caps/contracts and that complexity one “good” team this past year can’t field a decent team next year.  It’s a mess any way you look at it.  Free agents frozen?  Expand rosters?  Comp picks frozen?

If they really want to shake things up, just follow the same order as last year.

In reality I bet it would be some type of wright d formula with recent performance mixed with their draft spots from the last 2 years. NFL has too much parity to go much farther back beyond that.

    • I had to make he tough decision to turn off salary cap years ago, because it would never properly calculate or I was doing something that wasn't showing up on my books.  It would eventually break the game completely a few years in. It angers me so much how poor the game is.  Basic stuff is just a chore.  I spent last night bitching about how my guys were always rules out of bounds when getting 3 steps and toe dragging. I played The Show (baseball game) once and was blown away how much better it is.  EA having a monopoly over NFL licenses has ruined the genre.

    • Just hope they are ready to turn it on when the playoffs start.  I also don't want Nikishin getting a bad impression of the team.  But it's probably just too soon after Rantanen.
