Acquaintances who have had it were pretty sick for several weeks without being able to barely get out of bed.  It can be pretty bad even when not lethal.

I'm in quarantine now after a friend who I had some contact with tested positive. No symptoms for them as far as I know yet. Test for me tomorrow.

That is the thing. Folks are just concerned about the death rate without considering that the symptoms for the 20% that get sick can be really tough and have lasting symptoms that can go on for weeks or months. I can't imagine being sick in the ICU for weeks and coming out with a million dollar bill. I hope you stay asymptomatic and develop antibodies to it without getting sick. At least it may offer you some protection moving forward

My dad who is mid 60s and going through cancer treatment (for the second time) just got the virus one week ago, tested positive last Wednesday. Felt crappy Monday through Saturday and today he feels great.

I thought for sure he’d be done for or at the very least in bed for a couple weeks. He said the worst of it was that he couldn’t taste and was very weak.

Strange virus indeed.

I am glad he was okay. One cautionary note. Have him get tested for antibodies down the road. The amount of antibodies and T cells produced seems related to how sick you get so asymptomatic people don't seem to be building up many antibodies. Which means folks could get sick again. Hopefully the second time won't be worse than the first but at least 2 folks have documented getting sicker the second time like what occurs with dengue fever

Many folks are only concerned with themselves as well. For me it's about not getting my elderly parents sick. It's about not getting my friends sick or their elderly parents sick.  Of course I don't want to get sick either. We have extremely selfish people in this country. When you  just act like a decent human being regarding this you can make a difference and help get us on the right track.

Fortunately myself and everyone else connected to this one random positive has been negative. But we all took it seriously. I moved in to a hotel for 10 days.

It is ALL OVER the map about how people deal with. nearly 80% healthy people very very minor issues, basically still feel "normal". Then there are a few cases of healthy people stating " I was as sick as I ever been in my life  ".   I heard a few cases where they feel fine, then in three days going to a hospital in bad shape. Been a few 90+ year old people beat it too. Its a enigma.
