I'm an actual fan that watched almost every game of both their careers. I don't have to "do the research."

Receivers: Not even close - Jake

Running Backs: Even

Offensive line: Not even close - Jake

TEs: Not even close - Cam

Defensive Line: Not even close - Jake

Secondary: Jake

Linebackers: Slight advantage to Cam

Our Offense was Cam and everyone else ate after he set the pace. Olsen never put up Smith numbers. One was an MVP and the other was not.

And that is without adding rushing to the conversation. Just dumb. Cam is/was a beast and Jake was 'our' JAG.

Edit: Both 7 years with the Panthers is very easy to compare...

Well that's one awful "football decision" to replace a guy like Cam Newton with a guy like sh*t the bed Ted?! Yikes. Got a good feeling that move will cost the team and probably someone's job in the nearer future

They got their guy. Now we will see if it a good decision or bad.

Jake Delhomme was a bad QB and got a Cinderella send off. Cam is one of the best players we’ve ever had. Tepper should have catered to the fans and given Cam a classy send off. The team existed before Tepper bought them. It a horrible look.

Jake was a unheralded guy who overperformed his physical ability. Cam in some ways has never reached his athletic potential for whatever reason. He had the fantastic 2015 season and since then not much. I think the relationship between Tepper and Newton soured  the Panthers and the Corona virus screwed everything up.  It certainly wasn't handled well but I really don't know the inside story on any of it.

This got me to thinking how bad this organization is at cutting ties. It really all falls on Hurney. Gettleman sucked at it, too, but JR was tied in. This was handled awfully and why would people want to play here? If you're a long time player, you're eventually going to get poo on.

I wish Cam all the success in the world in New England. Hopefully now that he's paired with a HC that actually understands adjustments and the modern NFL he can bounce back. I'm not ready to dog pile on Tepp just yet because Cam wasn't his QB in the first place. He gave them an opportunity but unfortunately Ron Rivera was at the helm and Cam was injured.

They could've handled this situation much better though, maybe this will be a lesson learned.

Bruh!!!

If you're not playing football as an emotional wreck, then you ain't doing it right. Sorry it isn't golf, or pick up basketball, tennis at the fitness center, tiddly winks, or whatever these dudes play. You're preparing to go out and fight multiple dudes for damn near an hour!

Yeeeeesh!

Man, we used to get so hyped during games. I was a talker. I would talk trash all game. I was a CB, and if I made a stop, I was letting you know I stopped you. I got burnt a few times and had to walk back to the huddle telling the guys “I don’t know what happened” or “that’s on me” but I kept talking. We had a guy that would act like a literal maniac, and we also had some eccentric guys like Cam.

If you don’t like seeing emotion, then football isn’t your game. It’s a grind getting every yard in football. It’s why these guys get so excited when they score.

Schefter had some interesting comments on WFNZ this morning when asked about this...

Said Cam's agent (Bus Cook) was well aware the team had planned to put him up for trade long before the supposed text. Schefter knows this because he & Bus actually talked about it months ago.

So, the communication breakdown sounds like it took place between Cam & his agent from this perspective. The team was speaking to Cam through his agent and figured a text was ok because he had already been informed by his agent that this was the plan.

This list is dead as soon as you get to Stephen Curry as being humble. In fact; many compared those Warriors team to our ‘15 panthers, who won and let you know they won. A lot of NBA players can’t stand Stephen as well lol

Stephen Curry is humble to you?

He's just light skinned...(◠‿◕)

lol @ "for whatever reason". Yeah the reasons are painfully obvious. For "whatever reason" some choose to ignore it. Also, the same people want to act like Cam has been trash minus 2015. Yeah he was only breaking records ever since coming into the league. He did also have a good 2017 where if he had better receivers, we would've at least advanced past the first playoff game. He also had a good 2018 before the injury, but I guess we are just going to sweep all of that under the rug too?

Cam gave his body and soul to this organization. Only for his talents to be wasted and his body to be broken by a coach and front office stuck in their own incompetence. He deserved a better send off.

Gave his body, soul, and mind to this organization. The panthers tried to change him, starting with JR telling him he’s not to get cornrows or tattoos, and hiring that consultant to encourage his speech.

I felt Cam when he said he gave his mind, body and soul to this organization. He literally did. These dudes want to call Cam “high maintenance” yet always seem to forget that Cam did everything the panthers asked of him, and not once threw the organization under the bus. He also never got in trouble, or put a stain on the team name.

Didn't Cam multiple times downplay injuries that resulted in longer recovery periods?  Didn't the team draft specifically for Cam for multiple years that resulted in how empty our depth is now due to none of them working out?

It's easy to point the finger at the Panthers organization but come on.  Cam isn't the Carolina Panthers.  He had some amazing seasons here and playmaking that will likely never be surpassed by anyone.  We treated him like the Franchise but it just didn't work out.

Quarterbacks seldom have long careers, especially when your game includes a lot of rushing.  Running backs start to decline at Cam's age and Cam without the running ability is an average QB that wanted to be treated like a top 5  QB.
