On these boards, I was told many times that there is no way Cam would ever agree to play 1 year/20m in Carolina. I was ridiculed for disagreeing.  I was told there is no way he'd ever agree to play without more of a commitment.

Some of y’all are mad because y’all thought Cam Newton would fall into irrelevancy on a team like Cleveland instead he found new life and a chance to start on an exceptional team. Stay mad.

Majority of the people you’re referring to was on this board before Cam.

North Carolina will be home to numerous Steeler, Cowboy, Redskin, and now Patriot fans.

I'm a Panthers fan first and foremost.  I hate the Patriots, actually, and I think Cam has a shot at making them better, which I hate even more because I love watching Cam and think he seems like a solid person off the field that deserves a shot at sustained success again.  I want Cam to do well so to that end I now have to hope the Patriots do well. Blech.

Cam is inexorably linked to the Panthers and a lot of us like him from his time here.  And yeah, some posters probably like him more than the team.  But he's also been hot news the last week so of course he's gonna get discussed.  the whole "can we please stop talking about him?!?!" just comes off was weirdly jilted.  We released HIM!  He wanted to keep playing here.

      Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.

      Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
