They all made valid points. Great video!

And I swear to God, hand on my heart and upon my mother's grave, that earlier today when I came here on mobile, that the top ad this site was pushing to me at that point was the Ford F-150.

Not lying.

At all.

But I'm sure liberal, progressive, vegan site-owner Igo is fine with that as long as it places $$$'s in his bank account.

Alright guys time to round up! You’ve all been the  last of cam fanboys stragglers hanging around for some time and it’s been fun but Cam has finally found a new team now. I’ll include a link to the new fan section over at the patriots board where you all can introduce yourselves as die hard Pats fans now.

So get in your last friendly jabs, you know, the ‘Panthers are a poo organization, fug Bridgewater and his supporting racists, and you hope they all lose and the Pats win it all with Cam to show all the haters wrong’, yada yada yada.

Oh and don’t try the whole but I’m a Panther fan lol. I think this whole forum can tell pretty easily that isn’t true. Haha. It’s been fun.

Long ago this site was called PanthersHuddle, ripp was there.

Long before that the city of Charlotte, where ripp lives and loves, got its NFL franchise, ripp was there

Long before that the Hornets became Charlotte's first NBA franchise, ripp was there.

Long before David Tepper walked through the door, 20+yrs before Tepper knew what a Carolina Panther was, ripp was there.

It was ripps love of the Panthers that made ripp love Jake Delhomme, Steve Smith, Julius Peppers and YES Cameron Newton.

F' off!

Tepper never truly understood the growing pains and heartbreak it took for our Panthers to FINALLY land a QB the calibre of Cam Newton. It was short-sighted and foolish IF "winning" a SB was the intention, I tend to believe it wasn't, it was about pissing on, putting your stamp/mark on the franchise. Not winning. The Patriots are OBVIOUSLY about winning.

The Patriots got Cam for a song on a one year prove it deal.

There is no reason to believe when Cam was negotiating with the Panthers that that sort of deal was a realistic option.

What we do know is that no NFL team was prepared to offer Cam tens of millions of dollars in 2020, much less sign him to a multi-year contract.

Ryan Clark is stepping all around the "R" word here, but he's making it pretty clear what he's talking about.

But I'm sure the Igo-fanboys who have made this site the #1 site on the Interwebs for pushing F-150's in their auto-ad pushes will disagree.

(Igo would disagree if too if he was honest... but he's sold his soul to the F-150, so there's that.)

Wow. Wanting you to fail. We saw that. We saw that in the NFL as a small market too. Especially when flags were thrown, or not thrown. It became even MORE obvious for us with Cam being here. Blatant.

Cam had a prove it one year here. The FO had that leverage. He had to play for us or look like the dumb ars. If he played through the last year of his contract we could have determined health/trade value or decide then to extend or trade or release. Instead, it was bungled and the FO instead looks like the dumb ars for releasing the (still?) MVP well after free agency to seem/look like a total d**k. Not anybody's fault but the boss.

Has it been established that Cam was willing to play his last year here without a new contract?

If so I must have missed it.

Treating Cam Newton like ‘an outcast’

SF: Speaking of the NFL, how do you think the Panthers handled Cam Newton’s release?

PF: I thought they handled it poorly. I watch enough pro football to know that things usually end badly. I’ve been critical of Cam. Like many. Like you.

But why be so unceremonious about it? I mean, just, let’s be graceful.

He’s one of the greatest players in the franchise’s history. Why treat him like an outcast? Which I think they did. ... I thought they did the same thing with (Panthers tight end) Greg Olsen. I got to know him (Olsen) fairly well over the years. ... What’s the point? Why be crass about things like that when you can show a modicum of class?

(Former Panthers head coach Ron) Rivera came out of it really good. I mean, they fired him. He ended up looking great because he didn’t have to coach the last eight weeks of the Titanic.

So he walked away, but he also but he made the most of it. To me, Cam didn’t have the luxury of coming in and knowing when his last day was going to be. He was just like hung out to dry.

SF: And how do you think he’ll do in New England?

PF: I think his health is the key. I kind of wondered last year what he has left. I think the most amazing thing about Cam is that someone who virtually nobody in the NFL wanted has become the most talked-about athlete in the world for an entire week. ... I think it shows that celebrity matters. And Cam is, in some ways, a bigger celebrity than he is a talent.

Wow even Paul Finebaum is defending Cam...

Look, I'm happy that Cam is now working with the most successful coaching staff in the league and wish him nothing but the best.

Having said that, I would have preferred that things played out differently and Cam had a chance to revive his career here in Carolina instead.

Unfortunately, that wasn't meant to be, but I'm not about to fault Carolina's owner or coaching staff for being reluctant to sign Cam to a multi-year contract worth north of 100 million dollars without knowing whether his shoulder could hold up to an entire season's worth of play.
