Freedom in this country is too often stupidly brandished without regard for others. Freedom for one person may not be the same as another. I get tired of people trying to use their interpretation of their personal beliefs as facts because of one word in the first amendment. It’s just as bad as the down south hypocrites church folk that try to tell you what a bible verse “really means”. How I see it is the more choices people make because of how they perceive their freedom will cause this pandemic to last a lot longer than most of us fathomed it could.

The NFL Preseason will not start on time. This puts the on time start to the season in real doubt.

Estimates are 20 million actual.  I'd estimate even more than that because this is the USA where people lack health insurance and don't go to Doctors unless really sick.

Yeah I saw that estimate today. What that says is that we guess based on limited data and testing that it could be that high. I read it to mean they still don't have a clue. The CDC is too filled with politicians directing the science instead of the other way around

So here we are almost to July and now the CDC wants to try to start acknowledge the asymptomatic people in some tangible way outside of being the 'secret killers'.

A further complication is recent indications that antibodies don't last all that long. It makes me wonder if my "borderline" anti-body test a few weeks ago would've been a straight up positive if it had been done a couple of months ago. I think I likely had it back in late January shortly after a trip to the Seattle area.

You were in the very first epicenter at the correct point in time, so it could be you did have it.  Certain antibodies typically don't last indefinitely, the reason people have to get a flu shot every year and not just once in their lifetime.

The other problem is that some of the tests are not that reliable given how new they were. If you had the symptoms like loss of taste and smell and headache and dry cough, you likely had it. I heard your level of antibodies might be in relationship to how sick you got.

I had every symptom right down the list except for ending up in the hospital with pneumonia. I've never had a dry cough that was that bad that lasted that long. I'm talking hacking to the point of gagging and waking up in the middle of the night hacking. The test I took was developed by National Jewish Hospital in Denver which is ranked at or near the top of respiratory hospitals in the country so I trust the test, it's just that I took the test about three months after I was sick.

We should be getting more answers to the antibody question over the next few months. The answer will surely have an impact of how effective any vaccine will be. I am glad to hear you recovered and didn't need to be hospitalized. There are a lot of questions and there aren't many answers yet.
