Saints game plan for steve smith

When I first read that, I had to go back and re-read it to make sure "Williams" wasn't a player I wasn't familiar with.

You grow accustomed to players saying things like that, but I would never expect a coach to say it. Well, maybe if it were Tom Cable. And if Steve Smith was a woman.

But only in that specific circumstance.

whew LOW blow hahahaha nice one i might add

who says he doesnt?..yeah he wont say it in the media.but every coach would love to take the other teams best player out leaglly.like i said if meeks said this people would have loved it.

I disagree, but i only speak for myself. I wouldn't condone it but this isn't like a forum member saying lets hurt drew brees. This is the guy who gameplans for the team and hes saying this publicly. What do you think is going on behind closed doors.

The Saints Jealousy of seeing their fans leaving the stadium after their team loses for 7 straight years must really be getting to them.

where is the Jim Mora rant about playoffs when you need it??

you have to be above .500 for the playoffs

which is 4 more than the panthers

That is right....

All you have done is win 4 more games than us THIS SEASON.

You have not won the division, you have not made the playoffs, you have not made it to the SB, and you have not won the SB.

You are in 1st place after less than a season....that is all.

The Saints are playing great football this season....no one is disputing that.

On the Smith quote, I will say this. I have not problem with a coach or player trying to blow someone up. However, Williams comment was to intentionally try and turn Smith over in the air so that he would come down on his head...and be injured.

That is a cheap shot....and Williams is an embarassment to the Saints for saying it.

That is like Meeks coming out and saying that Peppera and the DLine would intentionally go after Brees' knees. Both are uncalled for...plain and simple.

Although you may be doing better than us this season, I wouldn't trade franchise history with your team straight up...ever. You have a crappy owner and have basically been the joke of the NFL for most of your existence.

Geez people. I think it was said a little tongue in cheek. I seriously doubt he is going to try and purposely hurt steve smith. Knock the poo out of him sure. But hey, if thats what the Panthers need to motivate, so be it.

I love 89. He is one of the reasons i go to as many Panther games as i do. I love to watch him play. This season, not so much...and ive actually had to bench him on my fantasy team. Thanks Jake!

At least we're above .500 once IN the playoffs. In case you're wondering, it is a good feeling.

I think it is funny but if Meeks would have said it I wouldn't be laughing either. However, I will say that Williams had way more positive things to say about Smith if one chooses to read the entire article. Smith is a threat and requires respect and reporters always are looking to incite stuff. Expect to see this on Fox and ESPN soon.

Expect the very same from the Panthers. Again, I would never wish injury on anyone either, but this squad has a tendency to often take out star players.

Keep an eye on one Chris Harris, too. ;)

Thats my thinking. If the Defense see the Saints head hunting we will start also. I know why Fox dose not get along with Greg Williams now.... He is a thug and teaches his players to be thugs.

I dont care who it is... You dont say your gonna try to hurt someone thats wrong and dirty. Oh and yea he basically said IDK how to stop Smith except tell my players to cheap shot him. Very Classy I tell ya.

Saints fan here. I did not like that statement. Williams should not have said it.

I suspect he wishes he could take it back. He coaches our guys to be aggressive and hit hard but I absolutely do not believe he wants our guys to be dirty players and I know our players are as good as any in the league about wanting to play a clean game.

I hope Williams steps up today and attempts to take that statement back.
