Nice to see Saints fans condoning their players threatening to injure one of ours.

Classy, as expected.

Never condone that...I haven't seen the article, but trying to hurt someone is chickensh!t. No doubt about it.

When I first read that, I had to go back and re-read it to make sure "Williams" wasn't a player I wasn't familiar with.

You grow accustomed to players saying things like that, but I would never expect a coach to say it. Well, maybe if it were Tom Cable. And if Steve Smith was a woman.

But only in that specific circumstance.

Yep, he said it. want to make this clear; as a Saints fan, I don't agree w/this ok. It's chickensh!t. I can understand saying something like "we're gonna hit him hard to let him know we are there", but to say "not come back in for a while"...pretty weak.

Do y'all still think the Saints are *soft*? GW's philosophy is to knock the "F" out of the other team's players & our players have bought into that philosophy. Expect a MUCH more aggressive defense than what y'all have seen in the past. With that said, I don't want to see any player injured. And to give GW some credit, he didn't say knock Smith out of the game, he said "for a while." He also said in the same article:

"He's an unbelievable football player," Williams said. "He does things that obviously you can't coach. They are going to do two or three things that we haven't even seen on film, where they try to scheme a big play to him.

Believe me, Steve Smith is respected by most if not all Saints fans. We might not like him because of what he does to us, but we have to respect his talent and toughness. I am always hoping I can get him on my fantasy teams.

Expect the very same from the Panthers. Again, I would never wish injury on anyone either, but this squad has a tendency to often take out star players.

Keep an eye on one Chris Harris, too. ;)

I don't think one should try and justify a comment like that made by any coach at any level in any sport.

You are still trying to condone a player intentially trying to injure another player. He did not say to hit him hard. He said to turn him over in the air to have him land on his head. Players get their career ended that way.

There is no way to condone his statement. He is talking about cheap shots to put a player out of the game, plain and simple.

If you can't beat him, try and hurt him. That is the ONLY way the Saints corners can try and contain Smith.

Delhomme and Smith will have big games on Sunday...mark my words.

Playing that game will bite you in the ass.....Mr Bush and Mr Colston, meet Dante Wesley.
