Saints game plan for steve smith

Yeah. Probably his patented sucker punch maneuver. Probably Delhomme after his fifth interception.

Well Smith has never jacked up Delhomme that we know of, and Delhomme has had plenty of 5 interception games. And I never said that the injury would be intentional, just that the Saints D-backs probably wouldn't hold up well with a fired up Smith knocking them to the ground.

i can't believe that people are trying to condone or justify this crap. if he isn't stupid then he knows that 1) this is going to be at the least bulletin board material and 2) the NFL doesn't play around with this kind of thing. if smith gets hurt there are going to be fines flying around and wiliams could end up getting himself in trouble. fine with me. he'll probably have his DBs treat smith with kid gloves to keep anything from happening.

players have done things like this in the past and have gotten in serious trouble for it. doesn't matter if it is in jest or not....doesn't matter if it's for show. the nfl doesn't play around with it. if it puts a player at unnecessary risk or even appears to then the NFL will come down on them.

what is going to be interesting is seeing what the nfl does with this. the nfl has been in love with the idea of the saints and their 'heart warming feel good story for several years. they want the saints to win. are they going to turn a blind eye to this? i can guarantee you that other teams wouldn't be getting away with this.

i don't care what williams intentions were behind this. it doesn't matter. he said it. it was a stupid thing to say and now there needs to be consequences of some kind....especially if someone looks like they are trying to take smith out of the game.

we may have some screwy things going on with the panthers right now but one thing i can tell you, none of the coaching staff has done anything like this nor would they.,,,not even in jest.

So...a defense is planning on punishing a wide reciever when he catches a pass?! Holy crap! Someone call the police!

Grow up people. It's not like he said they were gonna break his legs or end his season. You act like the Panthers defense doesn't hit opposing players and try to shake them up.

i guess you spend enough time backing a crap team that is from a toilet bowl city and your standards are going to be a bit lower.

figures.

low class town = low class team = low class coaches = low class players = low class fans?

saints...the raiders of the south.

The bottom line is that Steve Smith has no sense of humor about this sort of thing. It matters not whether Williams was joking or dead serious, as far as he's concerned.

And no, he will not be punching a ref or Jake Delhomme on account of what the Saints DC said. That was a pretty lame attempt at humor by Saints fans.

hold on... it's not like he said they were gonna break his legs or end his season? Your coach said they want to turn him and have him land on his head..

What's the difference? That's a high percentage play to cause a season ending injury, dumbass...
