Mainstream media brainwashing people to think a guy who hasn't played since 2016 and was a borderline starting caliber QB is going to come back and start somewhere.  If the NFL wants to go far left and put politics above the product on the field, I could see it happening but this is just a cute story and nothing more.  At least the media got a few more million clicks.

the whole reason why he hasn't played since 2016 is because the NFL put politics above the product on the field

And, I'm the one with the agenda... lol You don't even try to hide your blatant bias and proceed to call me out for even suggesting otherwise.

yeah while the NFL was busy blackballing Kaep, the guy 3 spots LOWER on that list has one of the highest career earnings of all time

Have to go with the only legit NFL QB listed, Cam Newton. Colin definitely isn't a starter in the NFL, and I seriously question him as a 2nd string QB at this point.  Colin was benched in favor of Blaine Gabbert!!!   When you haven't played in the league in 4-5 years, and you couldn't beat out Blaine Gabbert back then? Yeah, that doesn't seem like a success story waiting to happen.

The real reason is CK would have been a gigantic distraction and the entire focus for a team that signed him, for the entire season, would be the hoopla surrounding him and he's just not good enough to put up with all that --- no owner was willing to sign up for that, then...

...and it's gonna be real interesting to see if any owner is willing to sign up for it, now.

Survey says...

If it matters, we have our answer: CK got a job first.

My most recent take before this news is that the NFL would have benefited from hiring Kap into a liason/corp role and spearhead all sorts of social initiatives with each franchise, showing support from the main office.

Curious to see how Kaep will do at this. A lot of athletes that write autobiographies have ghost writers, but I don't think Kaep could have a ghost writer as a journalist. I think it's certainly an interesting direction for an athlete to take career wise. Whatever you may think of CK, it's obvious the dude is not beholden to typical ways of thinking for athletes and is quite comfortable forging his own path. Most often it is those type individuals who help push society forward in needed but uncomfortable ways.

If he is looking for a model to follow, he should look at Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.  The guy has the rare gift of making you feel like you are listening to him speak when he writes.  Even if you don't agree with him on the topic, he makes you want to read the entire article to understand his perspective.  I've read others who had that ability.  None of them were athletes, and there are extremely few of them even among professional journalists/columnists.

Plus, he watches the MTV CHALLENGE. Gotta love that.

Given all the talk in the NFL right now that Kaepernick DESERVES a job, who do you think gets signed first?

Clearly, I think that the logical and better option HANDS DOWN is Newton but given the political/social state in the US right now I could see Kaepernick getting that option first...

Newton should get signed first...simply because he still wants to play in the NFL.

Considering everything, i feel that Cam would get a job before Kaepernick. However, most teams are looking for young QB's to start or develop, so i am going to be surprised if either one lands a job anytime soon.
