Really? How truthful is that statement? You can't tell me you weren't paying any attention when Steve Smith left for Baltimore and his first game against Charlotte he went for 2 TDs in a 38-10 trouncing.

We have arguably the most interesting coaching situation in the league with Rhule and Brady.  Super young team, it's really exciting.  There may be growing pains but we could be really fun to watch. 

Joe Brady using CMC, Moore, Robby, & Samuel should be interesting. 

The defense with this new DL in Weatherly, Burns, Brown, Short, Gross-Matos is easily the most excited I've been about that unit since Fox days.  We never really had a stellar DL under Rivera just a good overall defense (at times).  I also won't discount Kerr, Christian Miller and that big Baylor guy in Roy.  

OL, TE and LBs are works in progress...

DB is another super interesting spot with Chinn, Boston, Burris, Robinson, Jackson, Pride, Apple, & Tommy-Olives making a fast/young core.  Not an Apple fan but whatevs.

Is it weird that I actually enjoyed watching him get revenge? lol. 

I won't be following Cam much but power to the guy beyond the Panthers.

I agree, when i analyze the current team i cant find a reason not to be excited. I want see how this young defensive line looks and if joe Brady can duplicate succces in the pros. We may finally have a consistently good offense. I have watched bridgewater game tape from last season a lot. Say what you want the dude is a good QB.

Cam was a talent we didn’t get to fully appreciate with the Panthers. I for one don’t care about players once they leave our team. It’s like when someone is sick and dying. After they pass I want them to be remembered at their best (with the team I root for), because I can’t be a fan of a singular person on a team sport if they aren’t on my team. I guarantee you didn’t follow Pepper Smitty, Thomas Davis, or the other Panthers that were significant contributors that left. So why Cam?

Smith recently welled up when speaking about why he is coming back and playing another season. Smith also addressed concerns over his age directly in classic Steve Smith fashion.

i think it’s weird that people got more backlash for being fans of the starting quarterback of the carolina panthers than for “enjoying” an opponent’s “revenge game”

I think more people than not choose to be optimistic. I consider myself a realist but also tend to focus more on the positives than negatives. I don’t think we make the playoffs this year but I hope we do and I do think there’s a chance we can if certain things fall into place.

I'm more excited simply because it feels like we've finally turned the page towards the next chapter of Panthers football.

The team got so much younger so fast, and there's a lot of young talent to be excited about and build around.

The new coaching staff has an exciting mix of guys, and it's nice to be able to move on from the Jon Fox and Ron Rivera style of football and really think of the Panthers as a team with a much more modern and dynamic offense.
