Richardson Statue Coming Down

Let Richardson try to sue in the current social and political environment. He would be insane to do so.

No one cares about "social and political environment" on a breach of contract when discussing compensatory damages.  A judge won't, the lawyers won't and a jury shouldn't.   This isn't going to the court of public opinion.

I used to think the whole conspiracy theory that it wasn't really "contractually obligated" was just tinfoil hat bullsh-t, but given that they were able to do this without even so much as giving Richardson a heads up beforehand makes me really wonder.

Either way, my guess would be that "temporary" extends at least to the day that Richardson shuffles off his creepy mortal coil. After that it just becomes "we'll get around to it... someday."

Heck, even if it is contractually obligated, what happens when they're no longer playing at that stadium site?

You REALLY think a self made, 12x billionaire with a big ego, wanted the statue of a serial sexual harasser outside something he paid 2 billion for?  LMFAO.

His lawyers told him this was the opportune time to tear it down and he jumped at the chance.

I think it's possible if it helped him secure the team.

Assuming that the contract clause does exist though, this would be a pretty clever way to get out of it.

Bottom Line, though? The result's the same either way so I don't honestly care.

100% agree.

But you can’t FORCE people to talk...it’s their right not to, non disclosure or not.

And like JR...you offer someone enough money to set them up for life...people are going to take it.

But I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment, it’s BS.

I don't like NDAs, but sometimes they're the only way that rape and sexual harassment victims get any kind of justice at all.

On that topic, it doesn't take much sleuthing to figure out that the victim of Jerry Richardson's racial slur was Khary Darlington. Darlington was an up and coming scout at the time, then completely disappeared.

I'd like to think he could have been a personnel executive of some sort by this time. He was a good scout.
