Luke Kuechly could join Panthers’ scouting staff

This might actually be a better option for him than coaching.

Star players frequently transition poorly into coaching because they can't pass along what made them special. And sometimes it's hard for them to accept that not everyone has the gifts they do (hence why Steve Smith would be a poor coach...and he knows it).

Luke's greatest strength was his dedication to film study, analysis and diagnosis. Mind you, that'd certainly serve him well as a DC, but perhaps even more so as a personnel guy.

I'm intrigued.

Luke is known to be a huge college FB guy. He knows everything going on in that world. This sounds like a good fit.

I think Luke could watch three minutes of a Pee Wee game and figure out each player's strengths and weaknesses while also diagnosing the coach's tendencies.

He’d also tell you what play the coach will be running on third down, two possessions from now. The dude was unparalleled in his preparation and subsequent execution.

No doubt.

It'll be very interesting to see what career path he takes.

Luke just texted me and said this post of yours was concise but lacked elaboration. He said it leaned too far to the strong side of the Pee Wee analogy and probably overran the greater overall analogy play. He also said this went against your tendencies as a poster.
