BREAKING: Panthers sign CB Eli Apple

My memory on this is a bit foggy but I think I remember hearing his named called alot in a game this past season , we either had a field day on him or he played really good against us .

I mean, anytime you're signing someone this time of the year he's going to have major question marks. Good players with no injury and/or off-field concerns are all on rosters at this point. Considering what was available, I can't really complain about Apple.

I just don't get. I'm right there with you. Let's see what these guys have to offer. Let them develop and next year we can look for impact vets etc.

Again, I'm not talking Darius Slay or James Bradberry deals, but it would not shock me in the least if Apple's deal is 3+ million a year.

3 million is not CB1 money lol.  Maybe in the 1940s.

Just a short-term band-aid to prevent too much blood loss. In that sense, it's a good move, especially given our resources at the moment.

At this point, I honestly think Hurney and Rhule believe they're going to compete this season. One of them is an idiot and the other has no NFL experience. I think they're in for a rude awakening in a few months.

This is one helluva a head scratcher.

We've all heard about the "culture" since the Rhule hire. 

 

 

Apple has been one of the biggest headcases in the league since he's entered.  Pretty much the whole New York Giants organization turned on him.  He wasnt great in New Orleans (hence all the penalties)

We were fortunate a CB of this caliber was still on the FA market, Apple had originally agreed to a one-year contract with the Raiders back on March 18.
