or he's not stupid and his mental health issues have derailed his life like they have so many others.  people like to believe they wouldn't make the same mistakes other people do, but if we had their mental illnesses we would do exactly what they did.  medications don't always work. medications can stop working.  medications can blunt the persons awareness so much they no longer feel alive.  my sister is/was pretty much a genius.   super mentally ill.  derailed her life and jobs most of us would die to have the opportunity for.

I am very sorry to hear of your sister's situation.  Mental illness is devastating not only to those who have an illness but to their family members and all who care about them. I know it is difficult to understand unless you are close to it.

Leaf's past behavior, from a distance, looks like issues with character rather than illness, but no, I am not privy to the intimate details.

I would never say anything disparaging about someone who I knew, or that I thought had a mental illness.  My apologies if you felt offended.

Laws are different everywhere, out west if you raise your voice that is viewed as DV.

Its a 243 e1 which is catagorized as harmful touching of a co inhabitant.  It is less serious than a 273.5 which involves injury

I remember awhile back some shitheads on their bikes where fake running into kids, flying down the sidewalk, and just tearing up the park. One of the adults had enough and stopped the ring leader by his handle bars. The young boy did not move and he never touched the turd. Of course he cried to momma and cops came out. Many other parents came to the defense of the guy who stopped the kid. Cops put him in the car and off he went to jail. He had to apologize to the kid at the public park to avoid jail time. This happened in NC, cary. It was to avoid an assault charge.

One of bros stop with his wife at a strip mall in CO. Each did shopping and returned to car. He asked her if she got sugar, "Nope". He replied "FINE, Ill get it then". He came out to cops, someone called the cops on him. His wife simply said all he did was say "FINE, Ill get some then".  2 hours later they let him go after sitting in the back of the cop car. Both where dumbfounded. He found out by simply raising his voice for one word, it could be a DV charge.
