Backup QBs need to have a certain type of know your role subservient mentality, that’s not Cam. Just imagine for a second a team like the Falcons sign Cam, first Matt Ryan loses the locker room to Cam’s personality then Cam gets on the practice field and shows how much more talented he is, and finally if Ryan struggles just a tiny bit the fans turn on him. All this becomes a team distraction, teams don’t want that.

Only in Pantherland is Cam even in the same conversation with Matt Ryan. The main reason Cam is not signed is he is just not that good. He had one really good season and the rest are avg. I get we should hate the Falcons as the enemy. But let's be realistic.

Again, Lynn said they think Cam is healthy. 

The actual phrase he said was

"Cam's a tremendous quarterback," Lynn said. "He's been an MVP of this league, he's led his team to a Super Bowl and he's healthy now, from what I hear."

 

 

Which means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme things.

 

I think the injury potential, coupled with his style is probably a huge turn off for a lot of teams.  And lets be real here, Cam hasnt been good at all since 2015.  Career wise he is a slightly better than .500 qb with a low completion percentage.  You guys have to understand why teams are not beating down his door.

He was playing to the audience. Again, Cam's production, like everyone else is the deciding factor. Cam's production, his injury history and his mechanics are on display for all to see. Period.

Cam overvalued his market, period.  By the time he realized his market was as a backup, one year likely and at a few million dollars at best, there was little available as teams had filled their needs.

Look, these new guys are cheaper and exact replicas of 2 players: CAM and RUSSELL. These teams don't NEED him anymore, hes still respected, just not NEEDED. He should have taken the panthers offer, at least then he would be playing with the best offense the Panthers has seen in YEARS.
