Cam is the only QB left unsigned.

Let's say a team like the Chargers, Bills, Indy, etc lost their starting QB in camp.  Those teams are built to win now.   The Cam gamble to come in would be an easy decision.   But they would be renting him for a season.  But Cam could then showcase his health.

The earlier a QB goes down...the more teams become realistic IMO.

Gotcha.

I thought the implication was a mid-season signing.

I agree with you on the "earlier" assumption, spot on.

My sense is if Cam isn't on a roster by game 2 he won't play this season.

If I am the Chargers, Bills, Indy, etc. and my QB goes down midseason? And I am 6-2 or something? I'm bringing Cam in.  Especially if I got a defense.  A team w/ a defense? Super easy call to go to Cam IMO.

I was at the forefront of the Panthers should bring Cam back movement and appreciate your enthusiasm, but I just don't see.

By mid-season it will be close to 2-years since Cam really played and absent any preparation whatsoever I find it hard to believe any team will pay up to bring in Cam Newton.

Heck, the Huddle mantra seems to be he's still not healthy!

Personally I believe that's complete B.S., he's clearly healthy as a horse...

...but I can't envision a scenario where Cam & any NFL team will find common ground on on what will be a complex negotiation as it goes to and considers proper compensation, Cam's fit in the system,  the physical fitness requirements that are required to step right into an NFL game, etc...

...wonder if Vegas is laying odds on Cam playing NFL football in 2020?

How did this become a discussion of Cam's finances?

Some of y'all thirsty as hell begging for Cam to fail on all levels. It's embarrassing to watch.

Dont blame this one on me

We can all speculate all we want but the fact is that Flacco and Dalton and Foles all signed before him. The NFL is telling us what they think of Cam right now.

The NFL either doesnt think he can play anymore OR that they dont see him as back up material. Has to be either one.

Theres a lot of that with Cam Newton. I don't understand why he is someone people think so negatively about and do everything they can to try and discredit the type of person and once in a lifetime athlete he is. Just read this thread for example. It's awful, and one of the reasons this fanbase didnt deserve/will never deserve a Franchise Qb like Cam Newton or anyone else for that matter.

The most TD throw in a single season by Bridgwater is “fourteen”. There are 16 games in a season. CMC rushed for 15 tds last season.

if we play a full 16 games and he can stay healthy he's gonna throw for more than that this year just from inertia with this offense but yeah it would be cool to see a proven mvp in this offense with this supporting cast and offensive coordinator

Cam currently isn't signed and likely won't be until there is an injury to a QB and even then a starting job isn't assured.

Looks like the rest of the NFL sees whatever the Panthers saw in letting him go. Highly likely mostly medical reasons.

Another swing and a miss

When ownership (at multiple levels) supports that attitude, that attitude breeds and multiplies.
