Pj walker used what he learned from the nfl to become to xfl mvp

Luck's shoulder injury kept him sidelined for the entire 2017 season, but he was still around the facility, which allowed Walker and Luck to get to know each other. A year later, Walker was around for Luck's last season when he led Indianapolis on a playoff run.

"We had a good relationship," Walker said. "That's one thing, you've got to be really good with being around each other in a group of guys and a room that you're going to be with most of the season, the whole season. So we were all comfortable around each other, we were all good friends, and we came together really well."

But then Luck made the stunning decision to retire last August — a choice that could have put Walker in position to make the active roster as the team's backup to Brissett. Walker displayed some ability during the preseason, but with two interceptions and no touchdowns, the Colts elected to cut him and sign veteran Brian Hoyer to be their backup. Indianapolis also kept Chad Kelly, who served a two-game suspension at the start of the season before heading to the team's practice squad.

"I thought I had an opportunity. But things happened and I just didn't get an opportunity to take full advantage of it," Walker said. "Now I'm just looking forward to going back out there — just getting that opportunity to go out there and compete and show guys what I'm capable of again."

It may not have been against NFL competition, but in many ways, Walker has already done that with his performance in the XFL.

"I played four years in college, and even though college isn't the pros and things like that, even just me going out there, knowing I can do it, knowing I have the ability to do it — it was just a confidence thing," Walker said. "I just went out there and played my game."

That was good enough to garner interest from seven NFL teams, according to Rhule. But Walker's history with the Panthers head coach was certainly one of the key factors in the quarterback choosing to sign with Carolina.

"It was just me being familiar with him and knowing what he likes to do, knowing his style of coaching," Walker said. "I'm just trying to make the most of the opportunity, and this situation was the best for me."

I mean Hassan Reddick went top 15 and is from Temple, can't think of the last time a Penn State guy went top 15.

Completely missed my point though, I like PJ.

1 guy. 1. And no I get your point. Its played out, the idea that the XFL was not competitive simply because YALL didnt know who these men were lol. Guess what? Those guys got signed to an NFL team.

lol two dudes I grew up with played in the XFL. I would be interested to see what percentage not only got signed from the XFL but that will make a roster. once again, I like PJ. the comment that was trash was that he would be a day two pick in this draft, when he in fact went undrafted.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
