Moss had 47 catches of 570 yards last year at LSU.  Brady uses TE.  Stop making threads when you don't know what you are talking about.

Look at the stats and do your research before you come at me . I forgive you

All you negative camther fans are stuck in the fox / rivera era of conservative offense and a focus on defense . We have rhule and Brady if you don’t think they are going to crush the nfl then you don’t watch college football

I haven't seen anything yet to show Thomas as a N F L caliber starting Tight End .

He is one of many players on the roster that needs to show a big improvement , for us to be competitive .

I haven't seen anything that would indicate he is not a starting caliber tight end.  Reality is, he has been decent to good when he started, but his opportunities have been limited due to being behind Olsen and poor qb play during his time here.  He should have an opportunity to prove himself now though.

LSU threw for over 6000 yards. Moss’ season was a product of having 3 stellar WRs and a stellar RB and just being wide open and he still accounted for less than 10% of the passing yards. Based on Bridgewater and the NFL not being a pinball game, Thomas’ ceiling is probably 400 or so yards. Also, don’t expect red zone scores. Moss had 4 of the 61 passing TDs and 3 of the 4 came in the CFP games. 50% of his TDs and almost 20% of his yards came in one game against Oklahoma.

The OP is an eternal optimist but Moss’ stats are way below what Olsen has done while healthy and in an offense that passed way less than LSU did. It’s not much of a stretch to say that Brady uses TEs a lot less than what we are used to pre-Brady. I’d say we’ll probably end up around 20th in TE yards and that’s with a passing game people think will be chucking it way more than with Cam (averaged about 3500 yards per year).

By that stat we should get rid of CMC.  LSU rb totaled 629 yard among 5 rb.  Brady does not throw to rb.  Get rid of CMC.  This is a stupid thread.

Seriously? We are comparing CMC to Thomas? Also, Clyde was their lead RB and he had 50+ receptions, more than Moss. That’s not small for a RB. Throw in the talent gap between CMC and Thomas and I don’t expect a huge drop for CMC. I see a pretty low ceiling for Thomas.

TE use in the passing game was extremely minimal when you look at overall stats. RB passing wasn’t much either but there will be way more need to dump off with our OL.

    • pretty much this. for anyone with an open mind, it has to be perfectly clear that he proved himself worthy of the starting gig and we're going to be in good shape going forward. the benching was the wake up call/kick in the ass he needed.
    • D. Tet isn't going to be as good as Moore unfortunately and I still don'tthink this team has a good enoufh WR room after consecutive#1 picks. I really wish we didn't keep Evero and it looks like we got more of 'his guys'. Unimpressive TE and WR. I like they took another NT. It wasn't an impressive draft and the level of talent they brought in looks low again. Just more of then same but on the upside they didn't waste future picks to get anyone.
    • I am migrating this site off our current server and onto a cloud based server the board developers recommend. Everything on the backend is getting upgraded and the forum software will be brought up to date.    The database for this joint is absolutely huge, I've told them they can prune anything over a year old to help make it more manageable.    As such, by training camp this joint should be ready to enjoy a brand new season..... For about 2 weeks until it becomes clear again we still suck.    Rejoice!
