Will Panthers fans treat Rivera like Gettleman after leaving?

After he was fired unsurprisingly Panthers fans did not want him to see success elsewhere. With Rivera going to arguably one of the worst franchises in sports will there be the same out look or will there be support of him. I for one hated the direction we had while being owned by JR and thought things would change after. Rivera always left a stale taste in my mouth. He was overly predictable with game planning and play calling. He lacked accountability of coaches, especially the ones that followed him. I never really cared enough to want to see him fail if he left. If in turn he takes the Redskins to a SB and wins before we can I might flip shut but until then I doubt he will succeed in Washington unless he breaks old habits.

The Redskins have won 2 playoff games since I was in high school.  Synder could bring Don Shula back from the dead and make him the great coach of the 70's and 80's and Synder would still find a way of fuging it up.  I hope the best for all former Panthers players and coaches,  but I just can't see it for Ron in Washington.

I made this comment about John Fox and I think it applies to Rivera.  These are the guys who can get you to 8-8.  If you were 2-14 last year, Rivera can get you to 8-8 pretty quickly.  If you were 14-2 last year, he can get you to 8-8 pretty quickly.  There will be ups and downs, but overall, expect an average of 8-8 whether you are Cincinnati or Kansas City.  They basically can create stability out of chaos.

What they can not do is take that stability to the next level on a consistent basis.

And the Redskins, as an organization, will fight him in stabilizing things every step of the way!

I will remember the good times but he deserves a lot of criticism for his time here, especially since 2016.

Him going to Washington is his own self inflicted punishment. I don't have to not wish him well, it's what he did to himself by going down the 'I will prove you all wrong' road and jumping into a perpetual nightmare that would give him the control he seeks and not the 'maybe I can improve and overcome all of this' route by choosing a better team to coordinate for to get back to his prime.
