European Soccer is back on...

Also watching Bundes now that it's quasi-back, and it's f*cking lovely. For people who don't follow soccer, the Bundlesiga is probably the second most enjoyable national league to follow, unless you have taste for Italian soccer. It's just great from a quality perspective.

Anyone else watch UFC tonight?

The UFC fight without a crowd was interesting. Punches and kicks were so much louder. You could hear their managers well too which was cool.

I LOVED it. It was just like training in the gym and maaaaan some of those corner guys are TRASH. Sounded like some of them binge watched Tony Robinson and Entourage instead of scouting their fighters' opponents.

WWE without the crowd is super cringe. MMA tho? Gimme some mo'

Sorry but it's like watching a bunch of guys run around in their yard while they wait for the house paint to dry and start the next coat. Fun game to play but boring as crap.

Can’t be any more boring than Baseball, NASCAR (electronic or live). I’m interested to see how people react when we start watching the nfl or nba without any crowd noise or pan views of fans in the stadium etc

NFL should give an option where people can call in and scream into their phones and that sound should be played in stadium.

XFL gave us an idea of what it would be like.

Xfl had at least 30-40,000 fans in the stadium, had sideline interviews with players immediately, coaches mic up in real time....

does the nfl do that? People don’t realize that a typical 3-4 hour nfl game is literally 15-20 minutes of actual game time. Now we have that with no crowds, no celebrations with fans, no cameras showing crowds etc. it’s going to be different but no different than watching this soccer league

I have been watching soccer this morning and it’s been a breath of fresh air.

Elite level contact sport.

Re-opening taking steps forward on a daily basis — good to see.

It’s actually 11-15 minutes or actual game being played. It’s 60 minutes total of “time” but spread out over 3-4 hours with time between quarters, half time, breaks after scores etc.

The average amount of actual action in an NFL game has been calculated to be between 11 and 15 minutes. The other three hours or so are covered by replays, advertisements, color commentary, advertisements, huddles for the next play, and then more advertisements.”
