And these aren’t just scrub fringe guys. One is a recent first round pick (lol Nippleshorts) and the other was PFF’s 4th best corner in the entire league last year. If the accusations are true, they are both throwing away tens of millions of dollars for tens of thousands in jewelry? It doesn’t get much stupider.

Apparently they decided to recoup their gambling losses... Sounds like they'd been the patsies in a game earlier and had come wise to how they'd been played for chumps. Stupid once, stupid twice... not sure the NFL is going to give them third chances. Considering the situation, they may both see some serious prison time.

(BTW, in case you don't know this old truism: If you are invited to play in a poker group, when you first sit down at the table look around. If you can't quickly determine who the rube is at the table, then the rube is you and you're about to have your pockets emptied.)

This is so idiotic on many different levels:

  • Attending parties right now
  • Gambling at said parties
  • Not knowing you're screwed until $70,000 later
  • Committing armed robbery to make up for the gambling debt
  • Armed robbery at party full of eye witnesses
  • Second party probably in the same circle so eye witness can not only describe, but name them
  • Threatening to kill someone
  • NFL career could have cancelled out gambling debt
  • Going to jail and probably will be flipping burgers for a living when released

This is an example why certain teams love "high character guys" and do their due diligence on guys who have "red flags" in the pre-draft process.  I think it was Baker who had some red flags coming out of college.

It was. Sometimes you win taking risks like when Dalvin Cook/Tyrann Mathieu dropped and other times you get burnt.

It always takes due diligence and teams okay with however it ends up.

Kareem barely tapped some drunk chick with his foot and was never charged with anything. These guys committed armed robbery with a firearm. Not even close to comparable. These guys are more likely to spend 5-10 in the pen than to play 5-10 more snaps in the NFL.

Exactly. My man's wanted to act like the two are equal.

What happened to "we don't know the whole story" and "guilty until proven innocent" or "we don't know what happened that led up to this"?

:thinking::thinking::thinking:

What happened to this is all they know, they were brought up in a bad situation and poor economic environment, this is normal for them, they didn’t know any better! It’s the NFLs fault for not teaching them how to use money!1!

Baker appears to be the lead man in the situation with the “aggravated assault with firearm” x4. And ordering another person to shoot at a person. I was a huge fan of Baker in last year’s draft. Baker needs to spend time in prison. The NFL better get this one right.

Based on the reports and the witnesses not appearing have seen nothing, he will spend some time in prison. Those aren’t light charges, armed robbery isn’t probation only.

The NFL does rookie school, but at this point, I think they need to do school for every player until they reach the age of 30.

First and foremost....don't carry guns...ever.  If you feel unsafe hire a driver/bodyguard for 45k per year, and continue on.  That would eliminate all kinds of trouble that these guys seem to get into.

Just sad to be honest.

Yep, definitely a difference between a convicted felon and not a convicted felon!

Even if Kareem Hunt was convicted it'd be a misdemeanor, not a felony.

So,

Baker and Dunbar will only get consequences if the court decide that they should. The second they both are not found guilty, Goodell and some stupid desperate teams will give them another chance. That’s why the NFL is full of criminals. The league keeps taking these guys back. If they will show that the league will not put up with stupidity, players will take it more seriously.

Baker was the 30th overall pick in the 2019 draft, a player the Giants traded up to acquire. AS the first cornerback off the board, he would go on to sign a four-year, $10.525 million contract with a $5.6 million signing bonus.

On January 1, 2018, the Washington Redskins signed Dunbar to a three-year, $10.50 million contract that includes $5.25 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $3 million.

What a couple of dumbasses!!
