@MasterAwesome you are the only person that didn’t understand the point of this thread. Just let it be.

I’m truly sorry...and to prove it, here are some future thread ideas free of charge:

1) Is Christian McCaffrey our best running back since Jonathan Stewart?

2) Will Matt Rhule be our most successful head coach since Ron Rivera?

I look forward to hearing those discussions and I promise I will abstain from input on those.

Have we deemed him a failure already? Do you feel he was one of the worst reaches since Jimmy Clausen? The saddest part about it was he wasn’t highly regarded in the draft unanimously but there were some that raved bout him as a later round steal. I do not feel he’s a complete waste yet but I wonder how much will we see from him before his rookie contract is up.

I know we're just arguing semantics here but I think you probably meant to say bust, not reach. A lot of people thought Clausen would go in the 1st round. It was pretty surprising he lasted all the way to the middle of the 2nd. And Grier was picked right around where he was projected to go, somewhere on the earlier side of day 3. So I wouldn't call either a reach, but Clausen was certainly a bust and the jury is probably still out on Grier but it's not looking great thus far.

Lmao bro you legit have issues. You manipulated a narrative you created and are trying to bash me for it. We are both Panther fans correct? I asked people to speculate. I voiced questions based off of the consensus I’ve read on here then I spoke my opinion on the matter. What in the fug are you even trying to accomplish from this. First it’s some reverse racism nonsense now you’re trying to insinuate I’m stupid because you felt my reiteration of things previously spoken about a QB and when I clearly separated questions from my perspective your lack of a proper education couldn’t separate the two and just voice your opinion and keep it moving. People like you say whatever on the internet because it burns you up inside you don’t have the balls to around grown ass men in person. Mods lock this thread before this childish cuckold gets me banned for his baiting.

I meant reach. Clausen was a reach because of talent in comparison to draft position and because of what we have up to get him there. Grier was a reach because he wasn’t a top rated QB and we spent a 3rd pick to get someone perceived as a back up option. When we could’ve gotten one on the 5th or later that could’ve produced on the same level or expectations. No QB outside of the first maybe early second can really be labeled a bust if they weren’t intended to be brought in to start instantly or be the franchise QB.

Childish. You have a good one dude hope to catch you at a Panthers game one day and hear your perspective on things. I’ll be sure to make it public when I’m at one and where I’ll be sweet cheeks.

Absolutely not ready to give up on him at this point.  No way on earth he could have been successful in the situation he got tossed into last year.

Well I guess we disagree then. I looked through about 8 different 2010 mock drafts and every single one had Clausen in the first round, as early as 9. In what world is taking a consensus first round pick at 48 a reach? I think most people consider a reach to be a player drafted several rounds earlier than they were projected. What is your definition? Clausen at the time was much more of a steal than a reach. Obviously he didn't pan out but again, that would play more to the bust label in my opinion. Your point about later drafted qbs not qualifying as busts makes sense; I'm not sure I'd use that justification for Clausen because he came in with a lot of hype and was expected to be a viable starter with a first round grade, but I think it's a good point for Grier.

Bust was expected after he dropped and the reasons for questioning his character that kept popping up. I still stick with reach solely because of QB not being the biggest need and how historically weak that draft was at QB. We still had Matt Moore in his 3 year who had shown flashes, I felt just running with him and possibly still getting pike on day 3 would’ve been much better. Being that 2010 was one of the worst drafts of the decade I don’t see us coming out with anyone better but Clausen was a reach IMO because of need and to label a 2nd round pick still to me isn’t really fair to an extent.
