Good Breakdown on Bridgewater (reddit)

I told you guys that he did a good job with the New Orleans offense.  Stepping into a spot like that and doing very well is not that simple a task.

He will do much better than Cam, who was hurt, and Allen, who was scared, for our offense.

Teddy will either be resigned after 2021 or cut.  If he is good, and the offense works as well as they hope, resigned.  If it doesn't then they will use their 1st round pick on a QB in 2022 draft.  It's really all a wait and see this year and next.

Best part is the haters will refuse to accept that Teddy can throw an accurate deep ball despite not being able to rocket it down there.

They'll refuse to accept that he'll be a quality starter and has been.

They'll refuse to accept the offensive systems that he has played in as well as the circumstances.

In the end, they'll refuse to acknowledge they were wrong and that this is a solid signing with a contract that works to the advantage of the team. The Panthers get an affordable, quality starter with the capability to go and get their future guy should he not end up being it.

But I still love every bit of the OP's post. <3

Excuses excuses excuses. Cam was hindered by the same things when it came to scheme and the offensive players around him.

Bottom line is we downgraded at the most important position in football. For no reason other than Teddy has "played in a similar scheme before" thats a crock of bullsh*t

You really think Teddy is a downgrade from any QB on our roster last year? Cam couldn’t step into his throws (still is unsigned btw due to injuries) and Allen was traded for a 5th round pick...  So one is valued as a 5th round pick and the other is still a free agent. Teddy might not be a top QB in the league, but he is a proven starter who has potential to be more. QB, OL, and WR were all upgraded. The only position we downgraded on offense was TE with Olsen leaving.

Downgraded from what? Kyle Allen? No we didn’t. Bridgewater is better than Allen in almost every possible measurable facet.

Oh wait, you’re saying we downgraded from Cam? He played in two games last season that he lost and was not physically able to play in any more games. He hasn’t won a start since Nov 4, 2018.

Can’t downgrade from a QB that can’t play due to injury.

So tell me again how we “downgraded”?
