I was on a lunch break listening to the radio when that happened. Thought it was kinda douchey to talk publicly about it but it's probably not correct to label it "running him out of town" either.

I don't think she was doing him. She didn't need to. Being hot and not threatening to sue him for being creepy was probably good enough.

When the rumors first hit, I got pissed at the suggestion that she wasn't qualified for her job. But then shortly after that I heard from a guy who used to work with her who basically told me, "It's not sexist, she really isn't qualified".

I don't think so, but I do think we can agree she didn't get the job because she was the most qualified person for it.

My take at the time (and I still believe it) was that she was just a proxy for Richardson. He was still running the team behind the scenes. She was just the public face telling us to pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Jerry richardson singled out peppers in a press conference which turned him off and made him want out of Carolina. John fox spent the first few months repairing the relationship between the franchise and Julius. Then in October of that season Jon beason went on wfnz after a game against the Vikings and called out peppers effort or something ridiculous while praising Jared Allen. That was the end of the relationship between the franchise and pep.
