Does anyone find it hard to dislike the Saints?

oh god, really? The only number for the two clubs that means anything is zero. Neither of us have won it all. To borrow a quote from your great leader "It is what it is"

O, I know. Believe me, I'd trade every single winning season for 1 super bowl.

It'll come... Let us just hope that the world doesn't end in 2012.... hahaha

Makes no sence, you have to get to one to win it.

are you seriously bragging about 'getting' to a SB? Did you almost graduate high school? Did you almost get married? C'mon man when you celebrate almost in life...not good. You got zero, zilcho, goose egg, bagel world championships. Same as us! Neither one of us should be proud of that.

we cheered for our team while you watched in feb....

that is still a great thing, plus it was one of the best superbowls of all time.

person who flunked out of school before they even got to high school is making fun of a person who actually made it to high school.

great argument....keep it up with the almost's son. You'll eventually move out of your mom's basements.

Even though they're supposed to be division rivals, they've always seemed like the little brother of the NFC South. The JV. The "I'm just glad to be here" team. I mean, when you go into their house and kick their ass so many times in a row, no matter how bad the Panthers are, no matter if it's Jake Delhomme or David Carr starting, it just doesn't feel like a rivalry to me.

Even though the Saints are probably the best team in the NFL this year and we've looked so horrible for so much of this season, it wouldn't surprise me if we went into New Orleans and beat them yet again. It's almost like a psychological thing for the Saints at this point.

They've been around for how long and still haven't made it to a single Super Bowl? I mean, how can you not almost pity them at this point?

I truly do not understand how people can brag about making it to the Superbowl and going home with an "L". We know we have never been to the Superbowl, but things are changing for us. We finally have a great squad put together along with some great coaches. THIS YEAR we are playing great ball, so now you decide to attack our PAST, like thats supposed to hurt our feelings.

I will tell you like I told the Falcon fans, past playoff and Superbowl appearances does not define who we are today. Look at the Raiders, they have made the playoffs plenty of times and won some superbowls years ago. So your tellling me a Raider fan could come on this board right now and own all of you because of what his team accomplished years ago? No. Right now they are the laughing stock of the league and their old superbowl rings cant help them.

Right now were in much better shape than your below .500 team. We get media love because were playing well. I know it hurts you to finally see us doing well, so much that you have to go back to past seasons. Well you can stay in last year, we'll be here in 2009 cruising on our way to being the NFC South Champs and clinching that first round bye. And best believe our QB won't throw 5 INTS and get us sent home early! ;)

dee da dee. That's all this thread is. No read comprehension going on. 0-1 is better than 0-0. But I didn't bring it up, I was just pointing out that at least we have been there and have almost been to 2 others. How many have the Aints almost been to? One? In 43 years!!!

0-1 is better than 0-0? Very insightful.

No, the opening post brought that up. I'm just pointing out how silly it is to try to talk smack about not winning a SB.

OK...so I have read enough posts to realize that you are a ******* idiot already like most fans of the Aints but nobody here has ever claimed to have celebrated the fact that they "lost a super bowl"

get your facts straight kiddo and act like you can put a sensible and coherent thought together for a change.

The only thing said about the SB is that in less than a third of your teams history, Carolina has made it to the dance. Not to mention owning your team in the process.

The surprising thing to Panther fans is that having experienced visiting an NFC championship so early and then losing a SB in the final seconds not long after and then getting back to the NFC championship soon after that makes it hard for us to believe that a franchise with a 40 year history could only have two playoff wins. Thats ******* horrible!

....And don't give me that expansion draft bullshit whine. Nobody else in the league had expansion drafts in those days either so its not like it was really a disadvantage.

The saints are 7-0 and looking pretty strong offensively with lots of weapons. They still leak like a 50's Harley against the run though and will get all they can handle this weekend. When all is said and done you still root for an abysmally pathetic franchise historically and being a historical loser will always be a part of the stigma of what it is to be a Saint and a fan of the Saints.

So get your comments straight young man and stop insulting the rest of your fans by acting like a GotDamn troll who obliously doesn't have a leg to stand on and proves so by twisting fact into ridiculous comments like "why do you celebrate losing a superbowl" when in reality that statement is a pure fabrication pathetically submitted by you in desperation.

Who DAT!

its yet another aints troll douchebag with 205 in his SM

dats who dat is

Because you have never been to one. You have never experienced multiple playoff wins and winning a Conference Championship Trophy.

The NFL is tough. I'm proud of every playoff win and every playoff loss, I'm proud of every winning season. It's a fun ride.

First of all, 0-1 is better than 0-0 for the reason that it means that we have won the NFC Title game. It's not the Super Bowl but it's a great accomplishment - especially winning it only 2 years after going 1-15, with a quarterback that was not good enough for the Saints.

Second of all, I agree with the OP in that the Saints are a lot different to me than the Falcons or the Bucs. New Orleans is a bit of a dump, but the SuperDome is a lot better place to visit than the GeorgiaDome, and the fans that I have met have always been salt of the earth people. Falcons fans are for the most part either fans of one of their kickers from the '70s or something, or decided to stay with the team so they could get their moneys worth from their custom Vick jerseys. The Bucs are just...our mean dirty rival with all the good and bad that entails.

A Pessimist looks at a Super Bowl loss and says, "We lost the Super Bowl;"

An Optomist looks at a Super Bowl loss and says, "Hey, at least we won a Conference Championship;"

And, evidently, a Saints fan looks at a Super Bowl loss and says, "I'd rather fail for the entire life of our franchise than have gone to a Super Bowl and lost."

...okay.

That same optimist goes on a date and almost gets some.....keep living in the almost world, see how far that gets you. I didn't come here wanting to talk about that, I just simply said neither franchise can say sh!t because NEITHER one of us have won it all. Why do you take offense to that; it's true. And SB at the end of the day are the only numbers that matter. Ask Buffalo.
