Going food shopping

Not sure if this is still the case, but we had a friend attempt to do the Harris Teeter pick up and the earliest pick up available was a week from when she was placing the order.  I've found going early is the best scenario for selection and lack of idiots roaming the store.  My Publix has instituted one way aisles, but they might as well have not.  No one adheres, it's crazy.  You can put a face mask on, but you can't go the right way down the aisle?

Many Lowes Foods offer online shopping and same day pick up. We use it frequently and the service is free right now. Their website is pretty well set up for it.

Just skip the whole experience of fighting the Wal-mart redneckathon.

Been using Food Lion because their delivery service is cheaper.  But I might use Lowes sometimes because they have better produce and meat selections.

Walmart has an app called Walmart Scan & Go that lets you scan your products for purchase as you shop. You just show your eReceipt as you walk out the door, like at Costco.

If you're having a hard time finding meats, go to a butcher shop. You'll pay more for the higher quality, but you'll have a better selection and no one waiting to jump you if you get the last pack of chicken breasts.

We either order from Amazon or hit up one of a couple stores these days.  The mob scenes have disappeared and most things are back on the shelf so throwing on a mask and getting the few things we cant get from Amazon(Whole Foods) isn't a big deal.

FWIW Walmart's self checkout lines are NOT 10 items or less unless it is posted that way.

The times we've had to go there since the quarantine we've gone through self checkout with our cart fulls. They've got like 15-20 self checkout registers at our local one, so I don't see what the fuss is all about.

You're interacting with one less person, can bag the groceries the way you want them, and you can piss off entitled people buying less that think they deserve to get ahead of you.
