Doesn't matter. If you're five wide, then you're in five man protection with no ability to so much chip a pass rusher with a back or TE.

That's not really true.  It depends on how tight the alignment of the receivers are and how the DE are aligned.  If they are 9 tech or even 7 tech, yes you can.  But whatever, that wasn't the point I was trying to make.

What about tech nine or tech school?

Demonstrably false. Teddy ranked 23rd in the NFL last season in average time to throw. This in the same offense that Brees ranked 2nd in the NFL in that category. In 2018, Cam's average was 2.69 seconds. Teddy's average last season was 2.82. Going back to 2016 which is the oldest numbers I can find, Cam was never as slow to deliver the ball as Bridgewater was last year. In 2017, his average was 2.72. In 2016, it was 2.7 flat.

Bridge water is more accurate and better at reading defense

Ah, we've shifted to completely anecdotal arguments since the previous bold statement that was actually measurable proved wildly incorrect.

He’s a grown man trolling on a message board.

Anything that gets us back in the race for a real franchise QB is fine for me. We enjoyed having Cam until his body fell apart, but a QB who throws for 3000 and 14 TDs and doesn’t run isn’t getting us to the promised land.

last year he has 1400 and 9 in 5 starts, which equates to 4400 and 29 over a season. let’s not cherry pick stats from 5 years ago to create drama.

Which is the bigger sample size? The rest of his career or those 5 starts? It's probably more accurate to do the math for 6 games too. He attempted at least 27 passes in 6 games last season.

4 of those TDs also came against the Bucs and they were tied for 7th in most passing TDs allowed in the NFL.

Beware small sample sizes.

I'm on the fence on Samuel. I do think he's better than what he's been able to show so far, but I'm not sure I think he's as good as a handful of posters on here seem to think. He does get open deep quite a bit, but I'm honestly not sure that doesn't have a lot to do with teams just not having any respect for our ability to throw deep with a bum shouldered Cam and a limp noodle armed Allen. I'm honestly not sure how much that will change with Bridgewater.

Joe Brady is switching to 4 and 5 receiver sets and phasing out the two tight end sets we’ve seen over the past decade (perfect fit because Thomas fits that Scheme but we won’t necessarily rely on him manhertz and devalve) and we have a nice receiver room. Curtis Samuel is the #3 receiver on the team if not the number 2, he could be devastating to opposing D coming out of the slot. Seth Roberts, Pharoh Cooper aren’t even close to Curtis and might not even make the team imo. My guess is he’s 3rd at worst 4th in targets which isn’t bad considering the amount of receiving players Brady will use in his scheme  .Samuel is just beginning to perform like the wide receiver we hoped that he would blossom into. The ex-running back makes spectacular catch after spectacular catch while having the potential to be one of the more elusive RAC receivers in the NFL (just watch Philly or NYG game). He drops some balls and isn’t an elite route runner. A new coaching staff can absolutely clean up his routes and add new ways to get him the ball (designed runs, additional route combinations) If anyone can do it Joe Brady can and should. If the panthers do turn it around it will probably be in 2-3 seasons from now, and in that time Samuels contract will expire. Samuel has not proved that he deserves a mega contract after injury riddled seasons to begin his career. The panthers should resign Samuel to a new deal before this season in case he does emerge as a legitimate receiver in the prime of their career. Trading him will likely only return a round 2+ draft pick at most on account of the lack of time remaining on his rookie deal. Resign him now for a team friendly deal that will keep him under contract through his prime. Him Dj and Robby is something to work with for the foreseeable future, we can’t just blow it up with how heavily we’ve invested at that position including our misses funchess kelvin Bejamin and Armanti Edwards (a few that come to mind... god I hate Dwayne Jarrett). And when Anderson’s 3 year deal ends, let him be the one to go. Season ticket holder since 96 Keep pounding P.s. Fair play to Matt and Hurney for an excellent draft, Phil Snow should be excited to get to work! And no I don’t think you pay Logan Ryan 9 mil for him to come play 8-8 (at best) football .Sure I’m just giving my opinion on the situation. I don’t want him to go. I do have a weird feeling since he unfollowed the team on social media

Curtis Samuel is the most underrated pass catcher we have and this is why I think he bets on himself and doesn't resign yet. His ability to get behind defenses may be better then Ted Ginn and he's possibly especially for his size the best contented catch receiver we have. If you watch the catches he made in the red zone with receiver draped all over him it's actually quite amazing. In fact I belive almost all of his tds came last year on 50 50 balls and he should have had at least 5 more from deep balls if noodle arm hadn't underthrown him or the one time overthrown him.

Brandon LaFell is probably Marty Hurney's best 2nd round pick. Just saying. They guy was an okay WR. A disappointment for a 2nd rounder, but a mild disappointment is a grand slam for a Hurney 2nd round pick.

*Oops, forgot about Ryan Kalil. Kalil is Hurney's best 2nd rounder.

But, LaFell is the best WR Hurney ever drafted outside of DJ Moore. That's the truth. Smitty was drafted the year before Hurney became GM.

Brandon Lafell had healthy prime Cam Newton who took Ted Ginn and Jericho cotchery to the SB with superb passing numbers.

Similar production.  Just saying, fans ran him outta town for getting the same numbers as Samuel in a run first league.
