 I wanted a DE in the 7th round and end up picking one up in FA after the draft, all is good there.  As for the corner, this is not what I was expecting. I thought we would bring in a starting caliber prospect.  It's still early and could happen.  Cutting a corner JAG just to sign another doesn't make much sense to me.

I'm assuming since these guys are end-of-roster types, they will not count towards the top 51.  By cutting Frye and Hatfield, we saved about $1.3 million.  I would say those savings went toward the Scofield signing.

At some point, are they considering trying TJ Green at corner? He fits a Rhule/Snow type at 6'3" lanky DB with 4.3 speed and turns 25 in May.

Dude is a bust.  He's already flamed out with 2-3 teams and I think is just 25-years old, not to mention a day 2 draft pick.  If you are drafted that high and other teams have given up on you so readily, major red flags need to be waived.

Cornerback Derrek Thomas played for Rhule at both Temple and Baylor as he transferred to join Rhule in Waco after the 2017 season. Thomas spent time with the Seahawks and Steelers last year after wrapping up his college time with 21 tackles and an interception in 2018.

The Panthers also signed defensive end DaVonte Lambert. Lambert had 14 tackles and a forced fumble in 11 games for the Buccaneers in 2016 and spent the next year on injured reserve. He was out of the NFL the last two years and spent time in the XFL with St. Louis this year

Well Thomas is a phenomenal athlete. He has fantastic height/ length/ speed/ explosiveness. Can press too. Scored low on agility. Hasn't played the position long and was a developmental prospect coming out.
