We'll see. Cam is better than either of those guys, even if he isn't "Fully healthy", but the Patriots have always been system-heavy and I am skeptical Cam is a good fit in their system.

I hope I"m wrong because I feel Cam deserves a good organization around him.

Mav you can’t keep spitting out this garbage. They create their system based on the players they have. Cam will be fine.

That is not correct.  There is a Patriots system and that is why a bunch of big name acquisitions fizzle out, and why some of their better players are bad on other teams.   I lived in MA for a decade and got to hear and read a lot about the team.  That said, we have no idea how it'll go on offense now with Brady gone, which is why I think this could be different.

edit: it is fine to say they'll likely do things different this time around since QB is different from the other positions (altho the offense was always very similar between Brady and backups), but it isn't garbage to say they have a system and generally stick to it. it is one of the more defining features of Patriots teams, but that is a TON easier to do with a QB like Brady and the kind of coaching they had.

If anything, it's the people who thought we would get something significant in trade for him that are moving goal posts. I can't believe that's the contract for a supposed starting QB with his credentials.

Sherman has a point given how much teams are paying quarterbacks these days, but he also should accept this was Cam Newton's market and it's on him to prove he was undervalued and get a bigger payday next offseason. after all, we are talking about a QB that lost his last eight games.
