Can’t speak to others, but you were called out for good reasons. Quite a few inconsistencies on your end.

Anyways, with posts like this, I hope your not one of those who will get upset when Cam is continuously brought up in the future.

Not inconsistent---Cam huggers just want it all one way or all another.  You are all in or all against.  If only life were that simple.  You did not seem to understand that I was coming from the hits/toll on body /business angle and the rest were calling people haters and racists.  Not even going to go there--it is a cheap tactic and I do not play that card ever.  I liked Cam the player.  My son has his signed jersey on his wall and loved his energy--I was warning folks that he would have a career that was "about a decade" if he did not change his style.  Cam wanted a big deal---commitment---even now this is personal to you.  It is business, and the whole league is doing what I said the Panthers should do---Cam will get a chance, but for now, crickets.  It would have been a dumb move.  That is all I said, all I ever said, and it is not about me--it is what I figured would happen.  Period--and it seems there are 32 GMs whose jobs are on the line in agreement.  I do not owe anyone an apology or explanation--but do not call me inconsistent.  Please.  It is more complicate than love/hate--I do not think in boxes like that. I explained my position clearly and often--but when people are interpreting you motives and/or intention and guessing wrong, they hear what they want to hear and disregard truth.

Well I guess Teddy takes great comfort in knowing that the thousands of negative comments/upvotes spamming those Instagram posts are probably not racially motivated.

What you’re doing is what people should have been doing all along...practicing nuance in determining whether criticisms are racially motivated or not. That is not what people have been doing on here.

”I wish Cam would work on his mechanics a little more”

=Racist

”Ugh Cam is still struggling with overthrows”

=Racist. “Tom Brady overthrows receivers too!!! Why aren’t you criticizing him?? I wonder what the difference is!!!”

“That was a nice throw by Kyle Allen”

=Racist. “Keep revving that F-150!! Bet you’re glad you got a white quarterback now”.

Come on man...let’s not act like the majority of anti-Cam criticisms hadn’t been labeled as racist and pooed ad infinitum on these boards for the last 9 years.

Feel free to draw distinctions between the two if you want, but the bottom line is the same: we have a new African-American QB in Carolina who is not welcomed or accepted by a large portion of the fanbase.

That’s disingenuous as hell. No is hating on Teddy because he’s black. And none of the comments you mentioned are what’s triggering people.

Its ignorant poo like. Cams, “isn’t smart, diva , can’t read defenses, isn’t a leader, poutty” Dumb poo that isn’t supported by evidence just because he doesn’t talk and dress the way you like. And just because Cam and Teddy are both black doesn’t mean they are the same culturally or in their personality. Cam is unabashedly black and confident and these aw shucks Jake Delhomme throw 5 ints a game fans can’t stand it and have been waiting for the day for Cam to be cut.

No one hates Bridgewater. We hate that he was signed when we let go of a better player. Period.

Any negative comments about Cam were absolutely called racist by the majority of posters on the Huddle...that is a certainty

That’s not accurate at all, it was tb posters arguing with tb posters and alt accts coming from everywhere dropping racist post to the point we had to get more moderators.

again if you are being labeled a racist for questioning cams football skills or ability to recover from this injury please show me, it’s usually that type of criticism mixed in with a personal shot towards cam that raises an eyebrow

The dog whistles and thinly veiled racist comments of Cam have certainly been prevalent on these boards and deserve wholeheartedly to be called out, but if you really think a contingent of these boards weren’t calling out any good-faith on-the-field criticisms of Cam as racially charged, then I’m assuming you’re either new to the Huddle or you are the one being disingenuous. I steer clear from the Tinderbox so I have no idea what people are saying in there, but I can only go off of what I see on the main forum.

This new favorite term of “F-150s” that was coined by the very same aforementioned contingent became popular last season while people were being supportive and god forbid, actually excited about Kyle Allen during our winning spree. Cause anyone who supported our white quarterback (while also having supported our black quarterback previously), were Confederate Flag toting F-150 revving racists. Some people only see things in black and white...pun intended.

both sides have made illogical assumptions, all you can really do is ignore them. one side (the cam huggers) seemingly only root for the player and calling anyone who disagrees with them racist, the other side commonly goes off obviously flawed win-loss records and brings up the ever stupid "cam is inaccurate" narrative.  though, i don't nessecarily see why all of the people who wanted cam to stay are being lumped into the group who wanted to give him an extension/being lumped is as racebaiters. i wanted to see him play out the remainder of his contract and have the last remaining year operate sort of as a prove it deal, and move on if he doesn't play well. if he does? well great, you have a franchise qb for your rebuild. i understand why we moved on though, and i am not sitting here complaining about it months later even if i am still disappointed. there are very real concerns over age and injury, and it's likely teddy is just a stopgap anyway. i just don't see why you let go of your best QB for nothing when you have him under contract for one year, he's in absolutely no position to sit out, and while i am sure he wanted a new contract, you don't have to give him one.

it’s because allen clearly sucked dude. i caught loads of poo for pointing out how awful he was. the allen push was clearly for non football reasons because he was legit the worst player on the field.

Yep, the Patriots were patient and it could pay off for them. Now they could be getting a starting quality QB probably cheaper than we got Bridgewater.

3 years ago if someone told you that

Cam Newton, Joe Flacco, Andy Dalton, Marcell Darius, Jadeveon Clowney were are FA's May 1st

People would think you're crazy

For the record, Clowney has turned down multiple offers already.   He's waiting for a better deal.

Obviously Dalton has since been signed.

Flacco is done, maybe a cleanup spot for a couple of years.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Cam, and Fournette too.  Antonio Brown, not a peep.  Ditto Eric Reid and Kaeperknick.

The League seems to be moving on from some guys....

Fornette is not  FA

AB is clearly a nut case

Eric Reid has some baggage but will get signed

Kap is old news and is done. Especially  after tryout fiasco last year

IDK what to make of Cam's situation. I dont think with his skill set hes plug and play as many here think. I am not sure of his health either. Whatever the reason its clear the demand is low

Didn't say he was.

Bottom line is Fournette has been widely shopped with no interest.  Heard an interesting comment on the Zach Gelb show where he quoted an NFL GM saying "NO THANKS" when asked if he had any interest in Fournette....Gelb cited Fournette's disruptive locker room presence as the reason he's not of interest to any other teams.

Will be interesting to see if Jag's cut Fournette loose with no compensation....seems like they are on the verge of doing so.

We'll see on Reid...if he gets offered the veteran minimum he'll be lucky.
