How bout we knock the rear view mirror off and start looking to the future? How long we gonna argue and piss and moan over this? Our best QB ever is gone and ain't coming back. Let's get this fuging D up to snuff. THAT is what we should be worried about right now.

The Cam fans still hasn't accepted football yet.

For those crying about Cam should have been released first thing after Rhule was acquired.

Ya don't release your franchise QB until you have a proven starter on team, ready to take his place.

I know smart business falls on deaf ears.

You mean like Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers. :crying:

They can't except anything until Cam has a new team. Just like they couldn't except Kyle Allen had more trade value than Cam at this point. Even Rivera knew he road the breaks off Cam.

What's your estimate on the timing of the move to SC?  Less than 5 years?

Also, how do you see the economics playing out?  Who pays for it?

Any SC city would pay for Tepper to move there. He would save millions is just the abatements alone in the first few years.

Any thoughts on how much money will the winning SC town have to pay?

How will they get the money?

I think he was trying to be political when he said he had a lot of respect for Cam and hoped he could coach him. There might have been some half truths in those comments. But I also think his comments about what makes Teddy a better fit reveal his lack of interest in putting up with Cam's personality.

And lets be honest. Ron Rivera was evasive, occasionally a flat out liar, and always coach speak. Same with coach Fox. I wouldn't say Rhule is less honest than anyone we've had before. People have always rushed to defend Cam whether he deserves it or not. Those people now view Rhule as part of the reason Cam is gone now. We also need to be real and admit Cam is part of the reason he is gone now.

Every time I heard Rhule or Tepper spoke about Newton, I don't recall there is ever a "but."   For example, I love to coach Newton but it's better we move in a different direction.  Why would they share all the information with us?  That would be a huge competitive disadvantage.  Some things are meant to be kept internal.  If they never found a QB replacement (free agent or draft), then he will still love to coach Newton if that's the only option. That's the truth.

This discussion has come up again recently in a couple of threads.

My take has been that while he engaged in coachspeak and very flexible "politician" style language, Rhule stopped short of telling an outright lie. And for the record, the same can be said of Tepper.

But I know a lot of folks disagree with that idea. Some branded Rhule as a lying sack of sh-t (Tepper too) and made it quite clear that they wouldn't take anything he said in the future at face value again.

So I'm curious, where do you stand?

Were Rhule and Tepper just doing what football guys do, or was this a violation of the fans' trust?

You tell me.

I think just about every NFL coach and player could have a career in politics, because they're many of them are masters of being political.  Did Rhule lie?  No.  Did he feel it was highly unlikely Cam Newton would be willing to play for the team on a short extension/no extension at all?  Yes.

As for Tepper, he said it from the start - it all depends.

Speaking of lying, hasn't it been confirmed that our former QB lied on multiple occasions about the extent of his injury to the training staff?

I see that the lying and myth-making to shift the blame away from the team continues apace.
