Did Rhule lie about Newton?

This is the year you should have bought a draft hat for each round the Panthers were picking in :shades:

Kinda misses the point.  I have no desire to get one. My connection to the team, if not severed, lessened drastically.  It feels like I lost something.

Do the opposite, buy multiple.

In time you will come to realize the draft was, the, inflection point.

You sold at the bottom and are going to miss all the upside...

that coach doublespeak is lying.  Like Anthony Lynn giving Tyrod Taylor the clear impression he was the starter and then a week later drafting a QB with the #6 pick.  Not debating the morals or strategy but he lied as did Rhule.  It's very rare to get a true straight shooter in the NFL coaching ranks and oddly enough its the younger ones who do it more than the veterans who have coached for years.  Maybe these young guys should take note of that...

You enjoy the ride.  I got nothin left to give this team.  I only end up back here out of habit.

Fair enough.  Every now and then one has to fire a customer or cut off a friend....sounds like you are there with the Panthers, I get it.  I did the same with the Wolfpack, about 20 years ago my interest level went to zero where it remains to this day.

Did some of yall just start watching sports yesterday or something?

My hunch is they feel deceived by what they thought they heard....not the actual words that were spoken.

Happens ALL the time.

Tepper told the media "We want to win a Superbowl with Cam Newton", actual words. HE said that. He then went on a whisper campaign leaking to the media that Cam was out and also PUBLICLY put Cams health into question directly BEFORE free agency and trade time.

Rhule has a press conference and says he can't wait to work with Cam.

It's often a tactic to depress the value of something you are trying to acquire this getting a great deal. Do that with property or stocks, not with one man's reputation and livelihood.

Stop trying to paint the picture as business as usual, yeah maybe in Wall Street because yeah, they don't give a f but social grace is expected and rewarded throughout the rest of society.

It becomes worst than Smitty the longer Cam is blackballed by the owners. Sad.

I want Cam Newton to retire a Panther.

What does that mean to you?

To me, it means that he wants Cam to retire a Panther....not that Cam is going to retire a Panther, nor is it we want him to stay a Panther for life.

As pointed out many times, not once did we hear a Cam Newton statement from Rhule or Tepper that didn't have sideways language in it, caveats, etc...They all had "if healthy", or "I look forward to", or something along those lines.

As to Cam being blackballed?  I don't see that at all, I think that Cam made his bed, and now he's going to have to sleep in it...or take his bed and go home.

I said the fair thing to do AFTER f'n up like Tepper did was to at least allow Cam to compete in training camp, best man wins AND a Cam playing and healthy has HUGE trade value but ego and hubris won over.

That would have been far more entertaining AND fair and just.

He was f'd over then blackballed until otherwise happens. Get over it.
