Marty is not going anywhere, he's going to hire an assistant GM in the near future but it's Rhule who is making the decisions.

With Marty guidance and support, absolutely. After all they are Rhule's  coaches and the players he wanted to play for him.

I'm very happy with our draft, but I also realize that we're 3-4 years away from properly evaluating it. Lots of disappointing rookies become very good players and lots of promising rookies ultimately bust. I'm not making space on the Ring of Honor for any of these young draftees just quite yet.

Y'all still have yet to see, the greatest is to come from MH 2.0.

We have only begun a new era, first SB win in 3 years incoming frens.

Biggest issue of the Panthers for the first 24 years was communication. Rhule is great at it. Also unlike the other HC we have had that state their "vision", they could never clearly give an example or how it would be obtained. Rhule writes it down clearly but also looks for examples. Vision always needs to be clear and easy to interpret for others to be on the same page.

Marty has improved I believe, albeit marginally but if he can nail the first 3 to 4 rounds instead of only hitting the 1st with erratic hit-n-misses then the rebuild will be shorten.

Rhule is working like hand in glove so far with MH.

And!

MH has been better on his contracts and itch to trade, much more self-control than his first stint with us.

Staff contracts normally run until just after the draft.  The fact that he is still giving interviews is a fairly good indication of an extension. Would expect to hear something shortly.

Actually, staff contracts typically run to the end of the season. Some other teams have had GM contacts end after the draft, not us.

Post draft is typically when teams fire scouts if they're so inclined.

Hope springs eternal for all you haters.

As does your usual MO of trying to champion unpopular people so that you can try and act like you're smarter than everybody else.

A lot of us know how you operate, though.

GMs dont typically fire or hire coaching staff

No. Head coaches do.

As has been discussed here before though, Matt Rhule has made a blanket statement that he doesn't fire assistants. Thus, if there comes a time when an assistant needs to be fired and Rhule refuses to do it, it'll likely be interesting to see what happens.

Tepper gave him full controll over his staff.  I guess if they dont perform he will be putting his neck on thd line as well as theirs

Given that we're probably going to be terrible in year one anyway, I don't really think anybody should be fired that soon.

Year two? Not sure. It'd probably depend on the circumstances.

But after year three, if it's clear a certain unit is underperforming, all options should be on the table.

If Rhule sticks to his guns on that issue, I'm not real sure how that's going to work out.

We can do better and we should try. I'll believe it when it happens. One good draft doesn't erase years of miss managements and failure. 3 out of 13. Does he have positives, yes. Still more negative outcome than positives to date.

And remember that the 2010 draft was a pure Hunrey draft with a lame duck coach. So I still don't understand why there is this whole we are suddenly good in his hands. Rhule has been solid in his contributions to the draft process, for very early it looks promising for the first time in 3 years of 2.0.

I have no idea what will happen and I still don't know enough about Rhule to make any predictions. I do still want Hurney gone. When he is with this team as a GM we do not win. In 13 years and varying coaches, owners and other employees that has been a constant. Even with an amazing draft that won't change next year. And yeah, Hurney is part of the reason we got to this depleted roster so I won't give him a pass like Rhule gets for what we are facing this year.

And you come on here with your extreme characterizations of everyone else to try and make them much worse than they are.

You are the king of trying to act as if you know more than anyone else and make fun of others who disagree with your opinions. So don't act as if you are somehow better or don't have your own MO.  Funny how we see traits in other we can't see in ourselves.

Truth is I don't like people being constantly criticized unfairly in my opinion. So I come to their defense. It doesn't matter if they are popular or not. I can live with that trait and actually find it positive.

Maybe some of us live in the present instead of stick in the past.

Nah. Not everyone. Just guys like you.

Plus, you know as well as I do that I'm not the only one who sees through your schtick. You did the same thing with Shula and people pegged you for that too.
