Seahawks released DJ Fluker who started 14 games for them last season and Justin Britt who has been one of the better Centers in the league for a while now. Britt was limited to only 8 games last season after suffering a torn ACL in October.

He’s not OL but Arizona would “gladly” move on from Haason Reddick.

https://www.google.ca/amp/s/arizonasports.com/story/1103248/former-temple-coach-matt-rhule-on-haason-reddick-hes-everything-thats-right-with-college-football/amp/

Rhule on Reddick:

“I love Haason,” Rhule told Doug and Wolf Friday on 98.7 FM, Arizona’s Sports Station. “He’s everything that’s right with college football. He’s tough, he’s hard-nosed. He got his degree and played so hard for us and so well for us and helped us turn this program around.

“You’re really kind of getting versatility, you’re getting two players in one,” the coach said. “He’s a guy who can play off the ball and be a weakside inside linebacker and use that 4.5 speed to cover guys out of the backfield and at the same time, I think he can be a tremendous weapon blitzing. Not many running backs are going to be able to block this kid.

“And he’s a great nickel rusher. You get into the sub packages — he can put his hand in the ground and his burst and athleticism and getting up the field are elite, even at that level, so I think they’ll use him probably as a combination off-the-ball linebacker, but also knowing they have a tremendous nickel pass rusher as well.”

Be interesting to see if Rhule makes a play for him

You know what's even better?

Center signed to a big money FA deal after injury.

I'm not a Hurney hater like some, but the Paradis signing is looking really bad right now.  I'm hoping he is fully healed and can bounce back from a rough season last year, but my expectations are surely tempered.  In fairness, he was a stud before the injury, and he wasn't alone in sucking, but he certainly wasn't the anchor on the offensive line we thought we were getting and needed him to be.

Signing Matt Kalil and Matt Paradis while the Saints astutely drafted Ryan Ramczky and Erik McCoy just adds insult to injury.  That IMO is one of the biggest reasons they have continued to excel from 2017 on while we've fallen off a cliff.  It's also directly related to Cam getting hurt.  The Saints' drafting overall has just been superior overall as much as it hurts to say.

That most disheartening thing is that, for a while when we were cash-strapped, Gettleman did nothing and showed criminal negligence by having Cam play behind the likes of Byron Bell, Nate Chandler, etc.

Gettleman/Hurney then have spent money on the position, and we are no better off.  That sucks.

On paper DJ Fluker would certainly be an upgrade at RG and something Hurney should consider if he comes at a reasonable rate, but of course there is risk.

My bigger concern is that I think Dennis Daley could be a really good LG but we are going to force him to RG to play Greg Little at LG to justify his draft spot.

I think we would be better off putting Daley as hopefully our long term LG and letting Greg Little sit and learn and be ready to replace Okung should he get hurt again (which is a legit possibility) or to be ready to take over in 2021.

We do need a RG IMO but I wouldn't want anything more than a modest 1-year deal.  If Hurney can do that, I think the risk could be worth the potential reward.

I also want Rhule to seriously consider someone else at Center, whether it's Tyler Larsen or someone else.  Competent Center play makes the entire offensive line better.  Trai Turner did not live up to his contract, but I firmly believe he can be a Pro Bowler again if he's playing beside a Center who is better at playing overall and the line calls.

We will get Teddy killed if the offensive interior is as bad as last year.  If the offensive interior is better, the Panthers will be at least above average on offense IMO.  Otherwise, we are probably going to see PJ Walker running for his life at some point after Teddy gets injured.

People keep acting like Paradis didn’t come of a significant injury and come to a team in turmoil. Let the man have a chance to get his poo back together. No wonder we haven’t had back to back winning seasons, if we had people in the front office drastically irrationally thinking like this then it all makes sense now.

Don’t blame Dave for Byron Bell and Chandler. They’re both Hurney’s guys like Fua and McClain. Dave actually got us Oher and Mike Remmers.

I feel like this might deserve its' own thread.

A 25 yr old LB that played for Rhule and Snow - and we have a need. Bring in Reddick and kick Whitehead back outside. Sounds like ARZ just want to end the relationship, so maybe a late pick plus someone like Miller or Haynes.

I actually think it’s a bit of a no brainer. Like you said he’s only 25. Rhule and Snow know how to properly use him. He has all the tools.

Why not?

Oh, I’d be all over Haason. Makes too much sense for Rhule not to go and get him.

You don’t pay vets who have an established mindset of the game money to ‘pull his poo together’. The irony - a huge reason we haven’t had back to back winning seasons because the FO keeps throwing money at players that don’t work out. It’s been a ginormous problem for this franchise and Paradis looks to be another one. He is paid to be a top 8 center in the NFL...he has not even come close. It is very well known you DO NOT throw money at big lineman after an injury it’s extremely rare big men like that ever heal and come back, only exception is DEs and even then (CJ) it’s a 50/50. Other than that all positions on the line, defense and offense, take a big injury it usually means their career.

Paradis’ injury was not a minor one. And it was reported it was still bothering him at the end of 2019. I’d bet he never comes close to playing his worth.

This thought process is not good for long term success. He had one bad year on a bad team, relax. Give the man some time to get his poo together and the team to d the same. Even if he played better last year we still would’ve been bad. The guy is no Matt Khalil so we aren’t as bad off with him as you think.

It's my hope that Rhule is smart enough not to force guys to start because of their draft position or salary and will legitimately put the best team on the field. Ron Rivera never seemed to understand how to do that. Veterans would start long past their usefulness and young players would mire on the bench for way too long

One of the things that heavily influenced Ron's stance on these things is that he himself was forced out as a player when he still felt he had more left in the tank. He doesn't want to do that to others.
