DTs who do not generate double digit sacks do not make the Hall of Fame (Brown's ceiling?)

Exactly!

DTs are still critical cogs but WuT bOuT MvPz crowd kills me man lol

Chris Jones just make the KC defense so much better when he was in during the playoffs and winning the SB.

Fletcher Cox was a beast.

Brown is going to be great here and those that hated the pick will be like, "I wUz On TeH wAgOn B4 u"! (•_•) (-_-) (•_•)

I can't wait to scroll back through the threads and read the dolts who were calling him garbage.

It is rare any defender gets MVP, much less a DL.

I know that.  I just don't see Brown being that awesome.  I rather have someone that would have taken Bradberry's place and he was on the board.  We could have gotten two run stuffers or two pass rushing DT's later or a combination of both.  They taken Brown so nothing to be done about it.  Live with it and move on.

Who cares about the HoF or the probowl. One is a carreer accomplishment and the other is the billion dollar equivalent of a high-school election.

We got a guy that looks like the kind of NT we can build a championship D around and behind. If that's not sexy, are you sure your watching the right sport?

Not going to read the entire thread, so excuse me if this has been said:

Brown was double teamed all the time. And you talk about sacks.  Unrealistic.  Any team member that requires a double team will have deflated numbers, but he literally makes everyone else better.  Aside from that, clogging a running lane so the LB makes a tackle does not appear on the stat sheet.

Some of you are calling him the NT, with KK at the 3T.  If so, then why do we have Kerr and Roy (NTs)?  We are going to move Brown around.  Remember Rhule's love for Obada?  That is because he can move inside and stand his ground.  If you have an end (Weatherly, YGM, Obada) that can pressure from the inside---and an athletic DT---you can stunt and get the DTs off your star player.

This feels reactionary, a result of some trauma from what we watched last year.  Drafting for need when you're so many years from contending is a really impulsive decision to make.

We'll have many years to assemble our team, and you don't have to spend #7 draft capital to fill this need.

I know the analytics community is down on Brown, but a lot of intelligent analysts think he's going to be great. I like the Brown pick a lot more after seeing them get Gross-Matos and then trading up for Simms. Having someone who can eat up multiple blockers is only going to help Burns, YGM and the linebackers.

We will see what Brown becomes as a pass rusher but sack numbers aren't everything. I care more about interior disruption and pressures.

    • btw, mingo supposed to play tonight.  we want Cowboys to lose for more than one reason, but they are imploding and their 4th round pick is ours. Rams started rough this year, we have their second rounder, and for a while it a in the top 10 picks.  they are going the opposite direction of the Cowboys.  I do think they have Kansas City after us, so that will help
    • You go after my guy with nonsense like "I don't see quickness or explosiveness" and "I haven't seen a lot of quickness or full route tree ability that we always ignore" Then yea, I'm gonna punch back. Like I've said, if people want to draft someone else, that's totally fine, everyone has their own opinions.  But if you're going to advocate against a specific player, don't talk complete nonsense about their game like this. Even more so, don't do that when you're saying I'm the one with a bias towards him. If I was afraid of it looking like a bias pick on my part, I'd never have said I was an Arizona alumni when arguing for him, but I've admitted it from the very beginning, because I don't think my Arizona connection gives me a bias, it just means I know his game REALLY well as I've seen every snap of his college career.  So yea, you start saying the knocks on him are things that he's actually really good at, then you're going to get an earful from me with some video evidence to back it up. In the end, for me, it all falls back to how rare a player like T-Mac can be due to his size.  The smaller speedier type of WRs are exactly who you can find in later rounds and who become available as Free Agents, I can't ever get on board with taking a Hunter (as a WR) or Burden over T-Mac if all were on the board, for that reason alone, and I'd say that if he was a freaking Sun Devil, no matter how much it would hurt me to admit if it if that were the case.
