DTs who do not generate double digit sacks do not make the Hall of Fame (Brown's ceiling?)

The OP completely ignores basic math.

Any given year, about 5 guys are selected into the HoF.  Every given year, 10 guys are top 10 picks.  It's impossible for every top 10 pick to be a HoF player.

Honestly, if any given year the top 10 players in the draft yield 3 HoF players its a good year.

HoF is irrelevant.  Here's a better argument.

Jordan Gross will never go to the HoF.  But how (*@$ing crucial was he to our team?

If Brown simply turns into Jordan Gross, he's completely worth the pick.  If he does more, fantastic.

How good was the rest of his D-line at Auburn? Because he is now surrounded by 3 nfl  2nd round or better picks in KK,Burns and Gross-Matos. Might lend to more production as a pro.

Auburn's d-line has been pretty stout for a number of years now.  Brown, however, was the best of them all.

Using another Auburn DT high draft pick as a comparison, Nick Fairley was a wrecking ball as a pass rusher back in 2010, but comparatively Brown is the much better, more well-rounded football player at his position.

Love him or hate, bobo brings up hot takes. If Brown can do what he did in the SEC for the next 10, hes in the hof. Plus I do not care about sacks, I want constant havoc. Lastly I do not care about HOF either, give me Superbowl MVPs.

Lol you do realize how hard making the Hall of Fame is right?

Just because someone isn’t a HOFer doesn’t mean they aren’t worth a top 7 pick.

I must not be that hard since simmons is already a lock to be a HoF'er without playing a down in the NFL yet, lol....

And off the ball linebackers are valuable? Lol

Theirs a reason interior lineman usually get drafted way higher than off the ball backers. Sacks are not the end all be all, if you can disrupt and get pressure up the middle that’s good enough. I agree if he was just a run stuffer like Star or Vita Vea I wouldn’t want him in the top 10, but from all account he’s a disrupter and has been compared to Cox (who had less sacks than Brown in college)

And yes our defense will still struggle a bunch of rookies are not gonna turn around a bad defense. Drafting Simmons would have made less of an impact.

or he is used to shut down the Kelces and Kittles of the world.

So much of Simmon's value is going to be how the DC uses him.

No LB no matter how athletic can shut down either. The LB position is way to dependent on the D-line to have the value of a top 10 pick imo.

I actually wanted us to trade down, since this draft didn't have that many generational players at the top, but was deep in the middle round.  Okudah was the last guy drafted I thought had HOF upside.

There were reports Hurney was looking to trade down as well, it's possible no one was willing to give much up realizing the same thing as I.

Hurney does not trade down. Has he ever?

Also, Cam is not HOF and neither is CMC yet.

Gross is overrated by Panther fans IMO but a good player ...HOF maybe but just barely.

Logetivity hurt Luke and for that reason alone I wouldn’t say he is a shoe in.

Peppers no doubt about it.

Is smitty worth a top 10 pick?

Regardless of opinions...I couldn’t give 2 shits about HOF,  means nothing in terms of the team winning as a whole and the super bowl.
