I'm not sure if Haynes and Miller are going to be scheme fits. If we want to keep a designated 3rd and long pass rusher I imagine they may be fighting for one roster spot between them.

Agree. We are likely Gauldening a couple guys. They’ll be there for now, but cut down to 53 (hopefully at training camp) will drop a bunch. It’ll make the last two drafts look even better.

I take pro day times with a huge grain of salt. Funchess ran a 4.47 after 4.7 at the combine. Dantzler this year has a 4.38 pro day or workout after a 4.64 combine. Orr likely runs a 4.8 at the combine and a bit worse on the other two. I think Orr will have a tough time sticking if we are 4-3 with all the DL selected. Haynes, Miller and Smith will all be competing to stay on the roster. Bayless has a pretty open path to the roster. Cooper and Kirkwood, even Roberts aren’t good competition to get to WR4 or WR5.

I never believe pro-day numbers. Combine is ALL fair. Everyone is there, same surface, same measuring tools, same clothes. Its the same for all, competing against your peers. Stress is the same for all, food, living conditions, etc. Proday is more a gathering than events unless you played at Bama, LSU, or OSU.

I still believe in Miller. STs too, i mean both where 4th rounders. Believe it or not 6th rounder Roy is a NT and brown could play nose . Put KKs' under performing arse there, he played nose in college. Unlike Ron, you may see 3-4 looks with the current gang. Both could play the wide 9 role, if they can play Snow should find a way.

What is stopping Miller from playing a OLB role like Anthony Barr?? Similar size and athleticism..

Uh, some people consider Randy Moss the best ever. Sure, may have gotten in his own way, but his game was big!

I was referring to Thaddeus and his big mouth and lack of game.  Not Randy.  Sigh. Randy had the game to back up the mouth.

I would agree about the times. But if we are going to okay a 4-3 we need MLB depth. Smith and The kid from Cal are probably his competition.  Not Haynes and Miller.

As I see it:

Burns, Weatherly, Gross-Matos, Obada are our DE; each of these individuals runs under 4.7! I just realized our DEs are fast AF :Eyes_Emoji_42x42:

LB:

Shaq, Whitehead, Carter Jr, Smith as the main core.

Haynes and Miller can be used like Anthony Barr imo. Both can stay but for the others, practice squad once we get to 53.

    • What are the matchups, stats and superlatives?   I think this will be a hard game. Bucs are a very balanced team on offense:  7th  in total yards per game, 7th in passing, 10th in rushing. Baker is having another career year even better than last year but despite missing his Godwin and Evans. Bucs defense is poor (29th) particularly passing defense, but we’re also depleted in our receiving with Coker and Sanders likely out. Running Chuba is key but their defense is better against the run. (16th) I think this is likely going to require us to score a lot of points to keep up and hopefully the home field advantage tips the scale in our favor. My other concern is our run defense and being able to stop their rookie study Bucky Irving who the Bucs have shifted more carries to recently and he’s averaging 5.4 ypc and knows how to get into the endzone with 5 TDs so far.
    • This is nonsense and you know it. People will be happy when we are consistently and convincingly winning games against good teams. There are people in here talking down to others after losses and barely beating the terrible NY Giants. If you want to strut around here like only you are a real Panthers fan and rage pooing posts because your jimmies are rustled then hey good luck with all that. I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving.
    • Who had the massive meltdown last year? Hope they feel better this year.
